What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Fee-Based Solutions team, the Director will have a key role in the roll-out and integration  of the Unified Account program (UA) and expansion of Fee-Based Solution usage, key high profile strategic initiatives for CIBC Private Wealth (Wood Gundy). The Unified Account platform will become the underlying portfolio management and trading system for all Fee-Based Solutions at Wood Gundy. The Director will be involved with the cross-Canada implementation of the platform and provided targeted support to increase adoption of the UA program and the Fee-Based Solutions. The Director along with their cross-Canada based team will work collaboratively in branches with Investment Advisors and other Wealth Management partners. The incumbent will report to and work closely alongside the Executive Director to identify and execute strategic initiatives across varying functional and operational areas to improve and enhance the UA and Fee-Based Solutions offering for Investment Advisors and clients.

How You’ll Succeed

Business Development.  Develop a strategic vision and action plan to transition and optimize Investment Advisor business practices through the use of the UA program and increased use of Fee-Based offerings (where applicable). Work directly with key stakeholders such as Practice Management, Training, Wholesalers and Fee-Based Product experts to execute relevant strategies to promote UA best practices and identify Advisory teams who would benefit from UA coaching. Reinforce the benefits of the UA program, and strengthen UA training through personalized Investment Advisor book review and quarterbacking to resolutions any UA program challenges.Program Management. Work directly with program management team to identify and develop platform features that would benefit the Advisors, enhance the user experience, and increase Advisor adoption of the UA platform and Fee-Based Solutions. Work with Change Management leads to support a phased roll-out of the UA program across Canada and assist with the development of support materials. Advocate for strategic improvements in the UA platform once implemented with Technology and Operations.Relationship Management.  Collaborate with the Executive Director, Director of Fee-Based Program Management, Operations partners, Project partners, and other colleagues to deepen the utilization of the UA platform and increase Advisor adoption of Fee-Based Solutions. Build a high level understanding within peer group and key competitors.  Act as a key contact and UA subject matter expert for Investment Advisors, Branch Management and Wealth Management partners including Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance and Marketing. On-site visits to branches in provinces and across Canada will be pivotal to success.Innovative Thinking.  Apply significant creativity and innovative thinking to proactively develop novel, high-impact Advisor support materials for the transition to UA and Fee Based Solutions. Remain current with rapidly evolving Wealth Management services industry trends and have the ability to assess impact on UA program and positioning.  Be a strategic and analytical thinker and a solid producer with the ability to link UA program strategies and plans to business objectives.People Management/ Leadership - Create and sustain a high performing, inspired workplace with team members across Canada, which is consistent with the values of CIBC and ensure that progressive approaches are used in the management of human resources.  

Who You Are

You have a minimum of nine years of financial services, practice management or technology experience preferably in Wealth Management or an adjacent sector.  It’s important to have an understanding of Fee-Based Products such as Separately Managed Accounts, Discretionary, or Non-Discretionary programs.You're driven by collective success. You have demonstrated management experience; you can plan, prioritize and organize work effectively, to meet deadlines, while managing competing priorities. It’s an asset if you have experience delivering on a large scale technology project.Your influence makes an impact. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You inspire outcomes by making yourself heard. You have excellent presentation skills in both one-on-one and group settings to summarize detailed and complex information to varied audiences. Your influencing skills allow you to recognize and respond to underlying concerns and multiple interests;  you can resolve individual and unique impediments for Advisors to leverage the UA platform and convert assets to the Fee-Based Solutions. You have Strong client service orientations skills and comfortable communicating with Investment Advisors and branch management.You're a natural leader. You build trust through respect and authenticity and can lead a team and support Advisors across Canada.
