Job Summary

The Director, HR Communications plays a key role in developing and delivering impactful communications for internal audiences that support Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Spectacor’s HR initiatives. Reporting to the AVP, HR Communications, this role will partner closely with HR and business leaders to inform, engage, and inspire employees while connecting them to the value of working at Comcast . The Director, HR Communications will lead projects from strategy through execution, collaborating with HR partners and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, audience-focused communications. This person will be expected to work across the business to understand HR and business needs and build high-impact communications strategies and campaigns to deliver on these needs. The Director should be able to work independently, but will also manage a direct report and lead project teams. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, people leadership, and hands-on execution.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Develops and executes strategic communications plans that support HR programs and initiatives - including positioning, messaging, tactics, timelines, measurement of the communication plan and reinforcement. 

Manages and mentors team members, fostering growth, collaboration, and high performance.

Partners with HR and business leaders to plan, develop and execute communications strategies that drive awareness, understanding, and action.

Oversees the creation of compelling content across multiple formats and channels, including leadership messaging, intranet articles, digital signage, video scripts, presentations, and live/virtual events.

Understand digital channel strategies and best practices, and be able to advise clients and teammates on how to design and optimize digital content. 

Applies marketing principles—such as audience segmentation, journey mapping, and channel strategy—to deliver personalized and impactful employee experiences.

Uses data and analytics to measure effectiveness and continuously improve communications channels, strategies and tactics.

Collaborates with internal communications teams across the enterprise to ensure alignment and consistency.

Applies change management methodology where relevant and supports change management efforts through clear, timely, and targeted messaging.

Navigates a complex, matrixed organization with confidence and agility.

Manages multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality.

Anticipate opportunities or roadblocks, bring solutions and innovate new ideas

Manages external vendors and partners to support execution and innovation.

Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in internal communications or a related field

Ability to work within a fast paced, deadline-driven environment

Ability to exercise decision making and work independently

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong professional demeanor and comfort interacting with senior executives across the organization and external contacts

Ability to manage team members, vendors, and align people and projects to key business priorities

Understanding and interest in AI technology and the applications to communications. 

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

Strong proficiency with business management software (SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.

Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats and audiences.

Strong business acumen and understanding of HR functions and employee engagement.

Experience in the development, launch, and support of digital tools. 

Based in Philadelphia.
