Description Provides enterprise-level leadership and oversight for all Hospital Billing (HB) operations, including billing, accounts receivable (AR) follow-up, denials management, and payer relationship managementDevelops strategic direction, staffing models, and budgets to ensure compliance with payer regulations and organizational policiesLeads Senior Managers and Managers across HB functions, drives accountability for enterprise KPIs, and partners with clinical, financial, and administrative leaders to strengthen denial prevention, optimize reimbursement, and accelerate collectionsServes as the subject matter expert for hospital billing strategy, payer policy interpretation, and revenue cycle best practicesStrategic Leadership & Oversight of HB Revenue Cycle:Provides enterprise-level direction for hospital billing, AR follow-up, and denials managementEstablishes vision, goals, and performance standards aligned with organizational strategy Performance Management & KPI Accountability:Monitors and drives achievement of key performance indicators, including AR days, denial rates, cash collections, and payer resolution timelinesEnsures consistent reporting and data-driven decision-makingTeam Leadership & Development:Leads Senior Managers, Managers, and Supervisors across HB operationsEnsures effective staffing, professional development, and succession planning to build high-performing teamsDenials Management & Prevention Strategy: Oversees enterprise denial prevention initiatives and ensures effective root cause analysis, payer escalation, and resolution strategiesPartners with clinical and administrative leaders to mitigate future denialsPayer Relationship Management:Serves as executive-level point of contact for Hospital Billing with payer organizationsBuilds relationships to resolve systemic issues, interpret contract requirements, and negotiate resolution strategies Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partners with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Clinical, and Managed Care leaders to align billing operations with broader organizational goalsSupports enterprise initiatives impacting patient access, coding, and collectionsRegulatory Compliance & Process Improvement:Ensures adherence to federal/state billing regulations and payer policiesDrives continuous improvement in workflows, technology adoption, and compliance practicesAdditional Duties as AssignedTravel: Less than 10% of the time may be requiredWork Type: Remote employeeMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field or experience in lieu of degreeExperience - 10 years minimum experience with at least 5 years in a management positionPreferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related fieldExperience - 12 years minimum experience with at least 7 years in a management positionKnowledge, skills, and abilities (required):
