Summary:
We are currently seeking a Director, Health Systems Analytics (HSA) to join the US Pricing, Analytics and Innovation team within MAx, located at our headquarters in Princeton, NJ. (A Washington D.C. location is also acceptable.) This role will be part of a team dedicated to supporting legal, policy & government affairs and commercial teams by conducting detailed US or Global policy impact modelling across the BMS portfolio of products.
In addition, this role plays an integral part in informing and shaping our pricing strategies across our portfolio in the backdrop of a dynamic and changing pricing environment.
These financial analytics of key pricing and access-related policy issues meaningfully impact our business. As such, this role will lead analytics projects, build and analyze models, collaborate cross-functionally, and present key findings to stakeholders across MAx and our cross-enterprise partners. Additionally, the Director will be an important partner to other BMS stakeholders involved in shaping healthcare and pharma pricing policy strategies, including MAx, Global Policy & Government Affairs, Finance, and Business Insights & Technology. The position requires sophisticated quantitative analytical skills to interpret data and policy proposals, build conceptual models, and shape positions on emerging pricing & access policy issues.
Responsibilities:
Anticipate and analyze significant pricing policy hurdles, develop risk mitigations strategies, inform company policy and drive well-informed business decisions
Ensure pricing and access policy considerations for our innovative portfolio are identified and addressed in close collaboration with US & Global Pricing, Finance, BI&T and GPGA
Translate real-world, abstract, business questions into analytics and digestible communications for non-technical audiences that identify patterns and trends to provide business insights and help shape the external policy environment
Support the development of a US & Global healthcare strategy analytics capability and helping manage significant changes in both external policy environment and internal pricing & market access dynamics
Contribute to the development of evidence/ tools/ materials to help shape BMS positions on pricing & access policy issues mostly focused on the US, with the potential for ex-US projects
Partner within MAx, cross-functionally (policy, patient advocacy, commercial, legal, communications, finance, BI&T, etc.) and with external industry partners, and soliciting feedback to support and advance analyses
Manage external researchers and consultants
Communicate and raise internal awareness of important healthcare policies in a manner suitable for executive level presentations
Intellectual curiosity and interest in continuous improvement and demonstrated experience using and adopting/leveraging new technologies (e.g. AI)
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Will lead projects that span the BMS portfolio for both inline and pipeline products.
Managing external consultants
Drive digital transformation by identifying opportunities to automate pricing processes and implement scalable digital tools
Champion process innovation by evaluating current pricing practices and recommending digital enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree. An advanced scientific or business degree preferred
10-15 years pharmaceutical industry experience; at least, 5 years in areas related to market access, pricing, finance or business analytics
Strong background in building models to support complex business decisions
Must possess qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, and be able to demonstrate interpretative, creative, and strategic problem-solving skills
Experience in or strong interest in global or US affairs, government or public policy
A unique blend of analytics acumen with demonstrated strategic execution competencies required
Demonstrated willingness to push and evolve and organization with creative thinking, capability building
Demonstrated strategic and analytical agility to apply to complex business situation and crystallize key business insights
Experience in mobilizing matrix team members, embracing teamwork and driving results within a cross functional environment
Proven ability to influence key decision making across diverse functional areas, up to and including Executive Management
Strong presentation skills with strong capabilities to lead effective presentations with all levels of management.
Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
Familiarity with US pricing, reimbursement systems, and healthcare ecosystem
Demonstrated ability to demonstrate BMS Behaviors: Integrity, Inclusion, Passion, Innovation, Urgency, and Accountability
An advanced scientific or business degree preferred
Broad exposure across MAx functions and Senior Leadership.
Broad matrix team exposure on strategic projects with Government Affairs and Policy, Advocacy, BI&T, Legal, and other teams as designated. Will enable broad exposure across the corporate enterprise.
Proven ability to work independently and lead complex strategic projects, while providing subject matter expertise across the enterprise.
Demonstrated experience leveraging and/or implementing, AI-driven insights and digital tools to enhance customer engagement strategies, optimize HCP/patient experience, and drive data-informed commercial decision-making
Experience with process automation technologies (e.g., RPA, workflow automation tools, or scripting) is highly desirable
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $196,390 - $238,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
