Director, Global Trade Compliance – Measurement Solutions (MSOL)

You will guide the development and execution of a comprehensive International Trade Compliance (ITC) program that supports ethical operations, reduces risk, and enables efficient global business. This position can be based at one of our three locations in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Promotes Emerson’s purpose, causes and values autonomously while supporting MSOL’s strategic plan
+ Autonomously enable the ethical execution of legal business opportunities, proactively mitigating risk and reducing cost
+ Oversee the ITC function for MSOL and take responsibility for the development and management of the MSOL Trade Compliance team
+ Directly manage and otherwise lead a global team of compliance professionals, supporting their individual development, project management and program execution
+ Direct MSOL locations to ensure that their respective Archer location records, self-assessment(s), program verification process(es), improvement plans and business profile(s) are complete and maintained
+ Direct MSOL locations to ensure that each business/location has implemented the necessary operational procedures, procedural training and periodic auditing, as applicable to meet the requirements of their ITC program
+ Participate in Regulatory Compliance strategic projects, teams and initiatives
+ Act as MSOL’s escalation point of contact for ITC questions
+ Assist with investigation of suspected violations of ITC regulations or related company policies, preparation of disclosures and development of remedial measures
+ Collaborate with other Business Group ITC leaders to ensure transparency, provide support and help to drive Emerson’s global Regulatory Compliance goals and objectives
+ Collaborate with other functional areas (e.g. Legal, Finance, HR, Internal Audit, Sales, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigating and resolution consulting with Emerson management and external legal counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal ITC issues
+ Lead or otherwise assist in ITC-related projects and programs as applicable to MSOL

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Experience in a multinational environment with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance
+ Strong understanding of maquila operations and free trade agreements, including USMCA
+ Experience leading people, programs, and/or large‑scale projects
+ Experience coaching, developing, and mentoring team members
+ Working knowledge of international trade regulations (e.g., OFAC, BIS, DoS)
+ Ability to workin the United States without current or future sponsorship
**Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:**
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in international trade, compliance, business, legal studies, finance, or a related field
+ Experience using systems such as JDE, Oracle, E2Open, or TradeSphere Exporter
+ Knowledge of product environmental regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, IEC standards)
+ Familiarity with information governance regulations such as data privacy and product cybersecurity
+ Knowledge of anti‑corruption standards and due diligence processes
+ Experience collaborating with local regulatory authorities in multiple regions
+ Proficiency in languages beyond English

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $150,000 - $214,000 annually and eligible for bonus and equity, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
