**What you’ll be doing**
Reporting to the Senior Director & Chief Compliance Officer, CIBC Asset Management Inc., the Director, Global Asset Management Compliance, is responsible for building, enhancing, and leading compliance services to support Global Asset Management’s regulatory programs, including advisory compliance, regulatory compliance management, regulatory examinations, continuous monitoring, training and reporting.

**How you’ll succeed**
+ **Subject Matter Expert Advice -** by providing expert-level advice to GAM with respect to its exempt market dealer and alternative investment activities (fund sponsorship, portfolio management and distribution).
+ **Value-add advice –** by remaining current on regulatory developments and industry best practices, provide value-add regulatory advice to stakeholders to support GAM’s strategic growth plans.
+ **People management –** overseeing a team of Compliance Officers providing compliance advice and oversight in relation to marketing, registration, continuous monitoring and testing activities.
+ **Relationship building** – developing relationships with GAM partners and being viewed as a partner supporting GAM in executing their strategic objectives, while managing regulatory compliance risk and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.
+ **Independent contributor** - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and take on a variety of tasks and challenges with minimal supervision.
**Who you are**
+ You can demonstrate expert-level knowledge of regulatory requirements for investment fund manager, portfolio manager and exempt market dealer businesses, registered in Canada and the United States
+ A university degree with 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible business experience or equivalent.
+ Diligent, detail oriented with strong analytical skills to develop insights and interpret findings.
+ Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
+ Excellent cross-functional project and relationship management skills.
+ Keen sense of curiosity to learn and understand best practices and industry trends.
+ Proven history of working independently with strong problem solving skills to achieve objectives
+ Team player, capable of leading and collaborating with others
+ Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and eGRC.
+ Ability to demonstrate CIBC’s core values (i.e., trust, teamwork and accountability) and commitment to ensuring their work, and the team’s work, is on purpose.
