Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Officer to join our team in Singapore, focusing on the High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) market. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our market presence and driving sales of our flagship Variable Universal Life (VUL) product through various intermediaries, in particular the Family office and External Asset Management firms.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Sales and Business Development:

   - Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate the HNW and UHNW market in Singapore.

   - Identify, approach, and cultivate relationships with family offices, external asset management firms, and other relevant intermediaries.

   - Conduct in-depth needs analysis for potential clients and tailor VUL product solutions to meet their specific requirements.

   - Achieve and exceed sales targets for the VUL product line.

   - Organize and conduct product presentations, seminars, and workshops for intermediaries and end-clients.

   - Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and efficient processing of applications.

2. Product Development and Management:

   - Lead the design and structuring of VUL products tailored for the HNW and UHNW market.

   - Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends, client needs, and competitive offerings in the HNW/UHNW space.

   - Work closely with actuarial, legal, and compliance teams to ensure product features align with regulatory requirements and company risk appetite.

   - Develop and maintain product documentation, including marketing materials, fact sheets, and training guides.

   - Continuously assess the relevance of existing VUL products and propose enhancements or new features to meet evolving client needs.

3. Relationship Management:

   - Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in family offices, external asset management firms, and other intermediaries.

   - Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, providing ongoing support and addressing any concerns or inquiries.

   - Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.

   - Organize and participate in client events, industry conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company's network and visibility.

4. Market Intelligence and Reporting:

   - Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape in the HNW/UHNW insurance market.

   - Provide regular market intelligence reports to senior management, highlighting opportunities, threats, and recommended actions.

   - Analyze sales data and client feedback to identify areas for improvement in products and services.

   - Prepare and present periodic performance reports, including sales figures, pipeline analysis, and key performance indicators.

5. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

   - Mentor and guide junior team members in sales techniques and product knowledge.

   - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including underwriting, claims, and customer service to ensure seamless client experience.

   - Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the overall growth strategy of the HNW/UHNW business segment.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.Minimum 8-10 years of experience in financial services, with a proven track record in HNW/UHNW client acquisition and relationship management.In-depth knowledge of VUL products and other wealth management solutions.Strong understanding of the Singapore financial market, regulatory environment, and HNW/UHNW client segment.Excellent networking skills with established connections in the family office and external asset management community.Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.Proven ability to negotiate and close high-value deals.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is a plus.Relevant insurance and investment certifications (e.g., ChFC, CFP, CFA) are highly desirable.
