What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of the Vancouver Equity Sales team you will work closely with colleagues in Equity Research and Trading who are focused on helping our institutional equity clients achieve their goals. Acting as a key conduit between CIBC Capital Markets and buy-side clients, you will develop and maintain close relationships while delivering equity research, Capital Markets insights and corporate access in support of clients’ success. Your relationships will also yield intelligence and insight that will be instrumental in anticipating and addressing market needs. The role actively collaborates with other Capital Markets teams including Equity Derivatives, Prime Services, ECM and Investment Banking. The role requires strong existing relationships, sales experience and analytical skills to win and gain mindshare in the highly competitive market.
Base Salary: CAD 150,000

How You’ll Succeed
Research - Provide timely service to buy-side clients using equity research and public company knowledge
Client Relationships - Maintain and deepen client relationships to develop an understanding on client/market needs. Learn and cross-sell other products from CIBC Capital Markets in support of client needs
Investment Advise - Develop and share value-added idea generation and investment advice
Execute Roadshows - Plan and execute analyst and corporate roadshows
Product Knowledge - In furtherance of the above, develop product knowledge through both directed and self-directed study
Who You Are
You can demonstrate relevant industry experience. You love the equity markets and have a minimum three years of related experience. Canadian equity sales experience is preferred. Meet Canadian and/or USA regulatory/licensing requirements. In-depth Canadian and Global equity market knowledge.
You have completed an undergraduate degree in Business or equivalent. MBA or CFA is an asset.
You are results oriented with the ability to drive and influence decisions. Ability to work effectively under tight timelines. Ability to move comfortably from thinking at a high level to executing details. Team player, able to think cross-organizationally and build consensus. Strong relationship building skills.
You know that details matter. You can articulate your thoughts/ideas clearly both in written and verbal form. Develop a good understanding of the Capital Markets business areas, including specific risk and control issues. Strong organizational skills.
You are technically savvy. You have a high degree of computer literacy and familiarity with all business tools, e.g., Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Experience with Bloomberg terminals is also preferred.
