Reporting to the Executive Director for the Office of the CIO, you’ll be responsible for defining the architecture of all our digital systems. Leading a talented team of architects and fellows that span all IT domains and leveraging architecture frameworks including The Zachman Framework and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), you’ll create future-ready architecture to accelerate Collins’ digital journey and create tremendous business value. In this exciting role, you’ll deliver Enterprise, Business, and System Architectures that leverage technologies such as cloud, IoT, DevSecOps, and AI to tackle our greatest challenges and pave the way for the future. Your ability to clearly communicate will help you to engage and influence senior business leaders as we develop innovative and affordable digital technology solutions aligned to business and DT strategy. You’ll lead a team that creates engaging artifacts that articulate business needs, solution capabilities, alternative architecture, and the value provided by our digital solutions. Plus, you’ll govern technology standards, develop architecture strategies, define technology roadmaps, create reusable solution architectures, and manage our repository for architecture artifacts. Collaboration is critical. You’ll work across Collins and RTX, and partner with multiple Collins DT organizations, to leverage existing standards and solutions, ensuring we rapidly meet business needs. Join us and be part of a team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in digital technology. **_**_** **_This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **_** **What YOU will do:** + Oversee the Collins Digital Architecture practice that includes supporting the IT architecture needs of the Collins business, developing reusable architecture patterns, developing capability roadmaps, managing technology standards, holding architecture review boards, and maintaining an architecture repository. Set the vision for the architecture organization and continually improve the maturity of architecture process. + Act as an EA thought leader and be an architecture evangelist. Analyze industry, market, and technology trends and forecast impacts on the enterprise architecture strategy. + Lead a mixed group of department managers and individual contributors responsible for architecture delivery. Provide regular performance feedback, hold performance reviews, and assign work to team members. + Mentor team members to help them develop their skills as architects and develop their careers. Validate future state technologies using a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach. + This is a remote work role, but the successful candidate must be willing to travel to one of our US Domestic sites as needed to meet with team members and complete project work. **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position (U.S. Citizen). + Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience **or** in absence of a degree. + Experience leading teams and managing individual contributors with the ability to mentor others to elevate their technical abilities and develop career paths. + Experience with architecture frameworks, methodologies, artifacts, and ways to organize architectural work products. + Experience architecting, designing, developing, and deploying information system technologies to meet organization objectives. + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
