With 2023 revenues of $20\.4 billion, we are a Fortune 500 company who is committed to providing an inclusive work environment with continuous learning opportunities and development for our teams\. **GENERAL PURPOSE:** Oversee utilities, energy management \(EMS\), and disposal program for all Ross and dd's DISCOUNTS locations\. Provide leadership to staff and overall department\. Provide thought leadership in the energy and disposal areas by maintaining a strong industry knowledge\. Drive performance through internal team and vendors to ensure quality, cost effective service delivery\. Develop and manage short and long\-term process and technology strategies for all areas, with focus on efficient service delivery, expense and capital management\. Manage timely execution of store lighting and HVAC schedule changes for variable store hours\. Drive energy efficiency with both rate and usage initiatives\. Manage and drive performance of 3rd party providers for both EMS and disposal\. Identify, justify and implement process improvement, capital investment and cost improvement ideas for assigned areas\. Oversee maintenance, repair and replacement of all responsible assets\. Drive efficiency programs in both energy and disposal areas\. Work closely with all constituents to ensure effective and efficient project, service and invoice processing management\. Ensure seamless service to all existing and new locations\. Develop and execute RFPs for service as needed\. Ensure invoices are processed and recorded in timely manner\. Provide expense and capital budgeting guidance, periodic and ad hoc reporting, and analysis to organization for all assigned areas\. The base salary range for this role is $115,200 \- $216,600\. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location\. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees\. Other rewards vary by position and location\. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** • Provide leadership to EMS and disposal teams in performance of their duties\. Manage all immediate and long\-term aspects of area to provide effective and timely service to all stores in a cost\-effective manner\. • Oversee utility payment for all direct billed sites for total company\. Manage outside bill payment provider, including payment upload process, invoice auditing \(both primary and secondary\)\. Drive energy procurement initiatives in open markets\. Drive usage reduction programs through EMS provider and other means to minimize usage and cost\. Maintain relationships with utility providers to support troubleshooting and expediting\. • Oversee disposal program for all stores\. Manage disposal service providers to drive efficient and effective disposal service\. Ensure timely and effective disposal service to all stores\. Drive efficiency programs to increase landfill diversion and reduce overall cost\. Oversee payment upload and invoice auding process\. • Oversee Energy Management Systems \(EMS\) for all stores\. Drive efficiency and performance initiatives through EMS provider\. Work with all constituents to drive HVAC performance improvements, vendor service delivery and controls improvements to ensure a comfortable and efficient store environment\. • Monitor internal/external environment to identify trends/problems that could impact the organization, developing actionable plans to mitigate as necessary\. Research and maintain awareness of industry and regulatory issues impacting the waste and energy businesses to ensure compliance\. Ensure proper record keeping for all services, expense and capital investments\. Provide reporting for same\. • Collaborate interdepartmentally on joint initiatives in the energy and disposal areas\. Examples include Corporate Sustainability Reporting \(CSR\), Construction, Store Operations for openings, Corporate Properties related to DC or other non\-store sites\. • Identify, develop and implement methods to maximize efficiency and reduce consumption in energy and waste\. Drive process changes throughout the stores organization toward best practices in efficiency, waste reduction, recycling and resource management\. • Maintain, repair and replace assets related to responsibilities, including compactors, EMS and related communications equipment\. • Ensure systems functionality\. Examples include ServiceChannel, EMS systems, compactor communications, vendor portals and uploads\. • Initiate new store utilities, EMS, and disposal setup with outside vendors, contractors and Property Management\. Ensure internal systems such as ServiceChannel are updated for all services and trades\. • Effectively analyze EMS and disposal data to drive actionable plans for service, expense reduction and capital initiatives\. • Identify and implement initiatives and capital projects in assigned areas\. • Develop and provide clear and meaningful reporting on expense, capital, service delivery, projects, as well as support in annual budgets and 5\-year plans\. • Ensure compliance to all corporate policies and procedures related to service delivery, vendor management, invoice processing and staff management\. • Manage the recruitment, training and performance of designated team members according to corporate guidelines and policy\. **COMPETENCIES:** People • Building Effect Teams \(for managers of People and/or Projects\) • Developing Talent \(for managers of People\) • Collaboration Self • Leading by Example • Communicates Effectively • Ensures Accountability and Execution • Manages Conflict Business • Business Acumen • Plans, Aligns and Prioritizes • Organizational Agility **QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:** • B\.S\. degree in business, engineering or related field is desired\. • Minimum 10 years of related facilities/energy management/waste management in a large, multi\-site format\. • Strong understanding of the energy and waste industries as they relate to national multi\-site retail\. • Proficiency with MS Office applications \(Excel, Word, PowerPoint\), CMMS \(such as ServiceChannel\), Energy Management Systems \(NOVAR and NEXREV a plus\), web\-based service portals for energy and waste \(Engie a plus\)\. • Position requires a demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, interface with store personnel, management and outside vendors\. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written\. Exceptional customer service skills in dealing with store personnel, management and outside contracts\. • Ability to perform job functions independently and in a challenging environment\. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform accurately with short deadlines\. • Excellent analytical skills both mathematical and problem solving\. • Demonstrated experience with organizing and maintaining accurate records and reporting formats\. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:** Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer\. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in\-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc\. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance\. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically\.
