**Job Description:**
Johnson & Johnson MedTech (JJMT) is searching for the best talent to join our team as the **Director, Employee & Culture Communications** to lead the global internal communication strategy for the MedTech sector. This role will be hybrid with a preferred location of New Brunswick, NJ. Consideration will be given to the Jacksonville, FL; Irvine, CA; Santa Clara, CA offices.
This leader is responsible for crafting impactful communications, initiatives and events that engage our employees, activate culture, provide clarity during times of change, solve challenges and drive business results. The candidate will be a strategic thinker, strong writer and creative storyteller who will partner with leaders across the MedTech organization and at the enterprise level to inspire teams, craft internal messaging, and strengthen our culture. They’ll build and manage high-impact communication programs, lead all aspects of internal channels that inform, educate and empower employees, and serve as a trusted advisor during major organizational changes. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with HR to promote a learning, inclusive, and caring culture, and increase employee engagement.
**Key responsibilities:**
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communication strategy for the MedTech sector, promoting business priorities, organizational culture, and company values.
+ Serve as direct partner to MedTech HR leadership team; building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders—to support MedTech talent, inclusion, learning and culture priorities; aligning messaging with strategic goals.
+ Build engaging digital content and multimedia initiatives to inspire a global workforce, including capturing and crafting stories from across the organization.
+ Lead all aspects of the MedTech internal channel ecosystem, including leadership forums, global employee newsletters, and digital platforms designed to engage leaders and employees.
+ Lead the design, management, and measurement of communication programs and campaigns to ensure measurable impact, continuously refining strategies based on analytics, surveys, and critical metrics.
+ Provide strategic governance of communication tools, channels, editorial standards to enhance employee engagement.
+ Develop and implement brand-aligned internal campaigns to foster awareness and engagement.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership during major organizational changes, ensuring clear, consistent, and effective communication.
+ Serve as a key member of the Value Creation sector communications team, supporting efforts to drive understanding of MedTech business strategy.
+ Lead a team of direct reports, indirect resources, and/or agency vendors.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree
+ 10+ years of proven experience in internal communications, workplace culture, or employee engagement at a global scale is required.
+ Strong strategic problem solver with experience in cultural transformation, change management and collaborator management, including partnering with C-suite executives.
+ Creative storyteller, with a track record of managing multi-channel campaigns, driving engagement, and shaping internal messaging at a global scale.
+ Excellent writer, with ability to translate complex organizational messages and changes into simple, clear, compelling narratives.
+ Familiarity with innovative communication tools, technologies, and standard processes (e.g., Smart Brevity, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Unily, other digital platforms).
+ Excellent leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills.
+ Experience advising and writing communications for senior executives.
+ Experience leading direct reports.
+ Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment.
+ Track record of taking initiative, anticipating next steps, and setting high standards.
