Good Housekeeping is looking for a strategic and creative Editorial Business Development Director to help evolve and grow the brand across platforms. Reporting to the Digital Director, in this role, you’ll support and direct the Senior Social Media Editor on the development and execution of brand-expanding initiatives across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Reddit) newsletters, branded content and GH+, the brand’s growing membership program.
With a sharp editorial eye and a strong grasp of data-driven insights, you will work collaboratively with the editorial team as well as the video, creative and marketing teams, leading promotional rollout for high-impact tentpole moments, bringing creativity, structure and results-driven thinking to every initiative.
Ideal candidates are experienced digital leaders with a background in editorial development, audience strategy, branded content execution and an interest in brand marketing. You are equal parts strategic and creative, passionate about storytelling, obsessed with growth and performance and thrive in collaborative, fast-moving environments. You bring a deep understanding of social platforms, newsletters and affiliate-driven content, manage high-visibility partnerships and build impactful off-platform brand and promotional programs.
What You’ll Do
Serve as Good Housekeeping’s lead strategist for social media and newsletters. Strategize with editorial leaders to develop off-platform growth plans that align with brand objectives across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, Apple News, MSN and other platforms. Collaborate with the consumer revenue and editorial/brand teams to help manage and grow GH+, the brand’s membership program, through partnership opportunities, high-value exclusive content and newsletters. Drive newsletter content programming, subscription growth and affiliate revenue in partnership with commerce and analytics teams. Work across editorial, sales and creative departments to develop rollout plans for tentpole initiatives, special project and partnership executions. Collaborate directly with external partners on content creation, execution and editorial innovation. Lead the planning and production of editorial partnerships and special projects that increase visibility, audience loyalty, advertiser interest and incremental revenue.Who You Are
8+ years of editorial experience, with a minimum of 4 years in digital media and/or business development. Exceptional editorial judgment, packaging skills and a sharp eye for data-driven optimization Deep knowledge of audience development, newsletters, affiliate/commerce content and branded content strategy. Highly creative thinker with strong project management and strategic capabilities. Proven experience negotiating partnerships and executing editorial projects. Comfortable with analytics tools such as Parsley, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and True Anthem. Excellent communicator and collaborator with a passion for engaging audiences on emerging platforms. Bachelor’s degree required.Compensation: The base salary for this role is between $116,000-$130,000.. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Location: This role is currently based in the NYC office at least 3 days a week. No remote option.
