As Director, eCommerce Quality Assurance, you will lead the evolution from traditional QA to an embedded quality engineering model, partnering with developers and product teams to make quality a shared responsibility. Your leadership will ensure every digital product delivers excellence, creating measurable impact across the organization.


How You’ll Make an Impact

Lead the shift to an embedded quality engineering model, aligning QEs directly with developers in product podsBuild and maintain test infrastructure and frameworks supporting 15+ product teams, including CI pipeline integrationDefine scalable test strategies across units, integration, E2E and contract testing for consistent qualityElevate quality engineers to architects who guide exploration, performance and reliability testing while coaching developersReduce escaped defects and redundant testing, accelerating feedback loops from days to minutesChampion shift-left practices with tests running in CI on every PR and immediate feedback during developmentCollaborate with engineering leadership to foster shared quality ownership and develop respected QE talentImplement AI-assisted testing strategies for optimized test suites and intelligent defect prediction

Working Conditions

Work in an office environment with occasional travel, plus the option to work from home one day each week through Spectrum’s Hybrid Work Policy

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

Experience

8+ years in software quality engineering, test automation or software development4+ years leading QA or QE teams in embedded quality engineering models3+ years managing QE leads or senior quality engineers

Skills

Proven experience transforming QA organizations into embedded shift-left practicesAbility to operate at enterprise scale across multiple product teams and complex release pipelinesStrong communication and influence skills to drive organizational changeExpertise leading through influence within a matrix modelStrategic vision with hands-on execution capabilityDeep knowledge in test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Jest, Karma and JasmineExperience designing test strategies across unit, integration, E2E, contract and performance layersSkilled at building shared test infrastructure and integrating CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with Angular testing, Node.js backend testing and performance benchmarkingExperience with observability and monitoring tools for quality metrics and defect analysisProficiency in accessibility testing tools integrated into CI pipelinesKnowledge of test environment management and feature flag testing strategiesStrong interest in AI-assisted testing approachesData-driven decision making, coaching and mentoring, cross-functional partnership and quality engineering leadership

Preferred Qualifications

Education

MBA or advanced degree

Experience

Experience in telecom, cable, broadband, wireless or mobile industriesLeading QE organizations of 20+ engineers across multiple teams

Skills

Experience migrating test suites, coaching developers, improving feedback speedFamiliarity with Adobe Analytics, Tealium validation, accessibility standards and Agile deliveryMaster’s degree in Computer Science or EngineeringExperience leading quality engineering transformation in telecom or large-scale eCommerce platformsProven record implementing automated testing strategies in cloud-native environments such as AWS or AzureFamiliarity with test data management at enterprise scale, including synthetic data generation and GDPR complianceExperience managing distributed or remote quality engineering teamsExperience in vendor management for outsourced QA partnershipsDemonstrated ability to drive adoption of emerging technologies such as generative AI, machine learning for defect prediction or advanced observability toolingExperience in integrating AI-powered automated regression testing to accelerate delivery and maintain high quality standardsBackground in quality metrics definition and reporting for executive-level stakeholdersExperience with DevSecOps integration and automated security testing practicesExperience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean applied to quality assurance

The base pay for this position generally is between $124,000.00 and $220,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
