Position Summary:

Accountable to ITW’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and reporting to Sr. Director - Enterprise Talent, this position supports the enterprise strategy; specifically, building a deep pipeline with Great ITW Talent and ITW continuing to be recognized as a great employer.
The Director, Diversity & Inclusion works in close partnership with business, HR and ERG leaders to support the ‘Next Phase D&I Strategy’ with specific focus on enhancing leader capabilities and providing tools and resources to execute key actions across ITW’s global organization. The position further supports the D&I framework by monitoring, evaluating and communicating progress against desired outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to the D&I Council on ITW’s execution and progress in the Next Phase D&I strategy. Serve as the primary support for the Council, including developing agenda topics and preparing Council meeting materials.Benchmark industry practices and maintain knowledge of global D&I trends, regulatory environments, and innovations.Build a close and collaborative partnership with HR and business leaders across the enterprise to support our capability building and actions to support an inclusive workplace. Specific responsibilities include:Serving as an expert resource to leaders and HR on inclusionary practices and programs.Regularly engaging ITW’s global leaders to reinforce the enterprise’s talent priorities and the D&I framework and to gain insights/perspectives that will further enhance the organization’s D&I capabilities.Provide strategic oversight and governance for ITW’s eight employee resource groups (ERGs). Manage relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise strategies. Facilitate communication among ERGs, the D&I Council and senior leadership.Lead, develop, and directly supervise the Manager of Diversity & Inclusion, whose primary responsibilities include equipping ERG leaders with tools, resources, and strategic guidance. This role also oversees the design and delivery of D&I learning initiatives, including the inclusive leadership series.Review, evaluate and deploy the best ‘80’ tools, frameworks and processes to support our HR and people leaders’ capability building and actions to support an inclusive workplace.Partner with Talent Communications to elevate ITW’s employer brand globally, positioning the company as an employer of choice across all markets.Continue enterprise-wide efforts to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging by actively engaging stakeholders, aligning D&I initiatives with organizational goals, and integrating inclusive practices into the employee experience and talent strategies.Evaluate the effectiveness of engagement and feedback mechanisms to better understand and address the evolving needs of our workforce and employee resource groups.Partner with Director, Talent Attraction to evaluate external partners and organizations to enhance recruitment channel expansion.Partner with HRIS, Talent Communications and HR business partners to create a positive employee experience through effective communication of our commitments and measurement of employee sentiment.Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and relevant HR experience required.Minimum 10 years of experience in human resources, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role and championing diversity and inclusion efforts.3+ years attracting, developing and retaining direct reports; people leadership.Ability to build highly effective and collaborative relationships across all levels of an organizationAbility to work 5 days a week onsite at the Glenview corporate campus with flexibility in hours.Cross-cultural experience; able to influence in multiple countries/regions.Excellent communication skills – verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation along with written message developmentExcellent analytical skills and experience in metric development, analysis and reportingAbility to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10-25%)Skills & Competencies:

The compensation package for the role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $145K - $190k annually. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
