The Opportunity

As Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions scales its Digital E-commerce platform and capabilities to our customers, we have a need for a strong product management veteran ready to drive short and long-term strategy aligned to business growth objectives. The Director of Product Operations acts as the key advisor for the business Strategy & Execution leader. This individual is a passionate product leader who enjoys evangelizing product management, working in a highly collaborative environment, and is curious and creative.

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Product to lead the strategy, development, and optimization of our B2B eCommerce digital platform. This role is responsible for defining the long-term product vision, managing a team of product managers, and delivering digital solutions that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer experiences for our business clients.


How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the B2B eCommerce platform, aligning with enterprise goals and customer needs.Lead and mentor a team of product managers and cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact digital capabilities.Champion B2B-specific features such as:Contract-based pricing and negotiated termsMulti-user account hierarchies and permissionsBulk ordering, reordering, and custom catalogsPurchase workflows, approvals, and invoicingDrive platform modernization through scalable architecture, headless commerce, and API-first design.Collaborate with engineering, UX, sales, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless delivery and adoption of new features.Oversee integration with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, PIM) to support end-to-end digital commerce operations.Use data and customer insights to inform prioritization, measure success, and continuously improve the platform.Stay ahead of B2B commerce trends, emerging technologies, and competitive benchmarks.


What you need to succeed:

8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on B2B eCommerce or digital platforms.Proven success in building and scaling complex digital products in a B2B environment.Strong understanding of enterprise systems and digital commerce architecture.Experience managing and mentoring product teams in an agile environment.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive presentation skills.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with B2B platforms such as Adobe Commerce (Magento B2B), Salesforce B2B Commerce, or SAP Commerce Cloud.Familiarity with MACH architecture, headless commerce, and composable platforms.Background in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial sectors.
