Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Director, Design Project Management (Sheet Metals) located in Guadalajara, North Site.
The Director, Design Project Management (Sheet Metals), will be responsible for leading a team of cross functional experts in the delivery of customer focused projects, products and services and support the development and implementation of project, pricing and program strategies in order to continue to deliver value to the business and its customers.
What a typical day looks like:
Direct a team of highly professional Design Program Managers in execution of their program deliverables interfacing with Planview resource management system, Agile PLM system and other process tools.Lead all project design activities, including feasibility studies, from project start until stable production (SP), within the project baselines.For highly critical programs, establish project schedule, resource requirements, external expense budgets and technical requirements, managing project from initiation through transfer to manufacturing and beyond to end of life.Communicate customer requirements, specifications, and project schedule and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management and consultants.Manage customer / product requirements and change management.Manage DPM portfolios and workload to insure individual program and DPM successRoot cause problems in execution and provide system level resolution, technical support and directionDevelop status reports, including project financials, ensuring project team is meeting customer requirements and measuring cost control.Manage engineering changes and product changesConduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules.Recommend changes to policies which may affect subordinate organizationsInteract routinely with multiple customers, Design Center and Segment leadership on multiple levels.Responsible for forward project finance & resource planning, ensuring projects are tracking to commitments and KOI (Key Operating Indicators)Establish Program Management team goals and strategic directionImplement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforceThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering in mechanics, mechatronics or related field required.Experience in similar position in the Metal-Mechanical industry is mandatoryAdvanced English (spoken and written)A Master’s or MBA degree is preferredSolid experience in project managementStrong experience in mechanical design Customer and company metrics Excellent Business skillsPeople management staff development Passionate Intelligence Commercial negotiation Negotiation with clients Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
