What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll join CIBC’s BISO & Risk Shared Services team within Cybersecurity, Third Party & Resilience, leading a team of Information Security consultants where working together you’ll help protect our bank, our clients, and our employees from cyber risk. As the Director, Cybersecurity Methodology & Governance, you will lead a team of security and risk professionals responsible for the development, execution, and continual improvement of CIBC’s cybersecurity risk assessment methodologies, governance frameworks, and supporting processes. You will drive the implementation of best-in-class practices, ensure alignment with regulatory and business requirements, and foster a culture of security awareness and accountability across the organization.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. 

How You’ll Succeed

Strategy & Vision: Develop and maintain a roadmap for the evolution of cybersecurity methodology, tools, and processes. Assess current practices and drive continuous improvement to meet evolving business and regulatory needs.Risk Methodology: Lead the creation, execution, and maintenance of cybersecurity risk processes and provide input into policies, standards, and governance frameworks. Contribute to the development of risk-related policies and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.Process Governance: Oversee the execution of governance activities related to cybersecurity risk assessment,  Ensure processes are documented, robust, and adhere to established methodologies. Engage with control and audit activities and interact with other lines of defense.Leadership: Build, coach, and motivate a high-performing team of security and risk professionals. Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of accountability and excellence.Thought Leadership & Benchmarking: Stay current with industry trends, methodologies, and frameworks. Conduct research and benchmarking to ensure CIBC’s practices remain at the forefront of the industry.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in information security risk assessment, including threat risk assessments, vulnerability and penetration testing, and secure software development. Experience with Agile development is an asset. You have deep understanding of risk management frameworks (e.g., Operational Risk, Technology Delivery, Third Party Risk Management) and risk register tools (e.g., Archer, e-GRC). You have 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams. You have proven ability to set strategic direction, coach, and drive team performance.You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in Security certifications.. It’s an asset if have CISSP, CISM or equivalent certificationYour influence makes a difference.
