Position Summary:

The Director of Corporate Partnerships will be responsible for working collaboratively with the SVP, Global Corporate Partnerships, and across the organization to grow the Workshop’s presence through fundraising, sales/revenue generation, and engagement efforts for global initiatives. This position will leverage the multi-faceted corporate landscape working with corporate foundations, CSR Leads, corporate communications, brand marketing, and agencies to secure new grants, unrestricted funding, strategic pr/marketing initiatives, and integrated cause partnerships.

The Director will work on a cross-functional team collaborating with various internal stakeholders. This highly visible role will require a proactive leader who brings a deep understanding of sales, business development, and corporate philanthropic giving. The Director will take a lead role in program strategy, pipeline building, donor cultivation and relationship management, securing new deals/turning opportunities into revenue, and will have a successful track record of securing large partnerships 6-figures and above.

This position is based in New York, NY (Manhattan). Sesame Workshop follows a hybrid work model with a minimum of 2-designated in-office days.

Primary Responsibilities:

Build funder pipeline and uncover sources of new prospects to support Sesame Workshop’s Global Social Impact work, media and U.S. program initiativesMain focus is on identifying new leads/opportunities to generate new grants and proposals based on corporate and corporate foundation guidelines and interestsFocus on outreach to subset of industries & prepare targeted reports and in-depth analysis on potential partnersManage corporate funder relationships, serving as the primary contact for key initiativesSteward and develop select corporate accounts under managementBuild relationships with other teams to coordinate and promote program integrationContribute to Corporate revenue team strategy and revenue goals

Minimum Qualifications Required:

At least 8-years of experience in corporate fundraising, sales, business development, relationship building, and prospect managementDemonstrated experience as a "closer" - successfully securing 6 to 8 figure dealsBachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferredStrong track record of success in bringing new funding partnerships to (larger), U.S non-profit organizationsIndependently secure revenue by "making the ask" and "closing the deal" with new prospectsHigh energy individual with a passion for the mission of Sesame WorkshopStrong relationship building skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamUnderstands stewardship of current funders and new prospectsPossesses current relationships/knowledge of corporate funding communitySelf-starter with sound judgment and creative thinkingStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsExcellent interpersonal skills: strong social skills a must; ability to interact -- with professionalism -- with a variety of personalities both internally and externallyFamiliarity with Salesforce CRM software or equivalent softwareExcellent Microsoft Office skills requiredAbility to travel up to 10% or less
