Director, Corporate Development - Mount Sinai Solutions
**Job Description** The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) is a leading academic health system that includes clinical, research and educational activities. The Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships (CDSP) team’s mandate is to drive growth of revenue and margin for Mount Sinai Health System through Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, and Strategic Partnerships. The Director of Corporate Development is a leader on the Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships (CDSP) team reporting to the VP of Portfolio Strategy & Corporate Development. In support of the mandate of the Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships function, the Director will, for assigned opportunities, lead the end-to-end process of evaluating and executing strategic opportunities. The Director will also provide mentorship to more junior resources on the team, and as designated, represent the team at external conferences or speaking events. **Qualifications** **Education Requirements** + Bachelor?s degree is required + Master?s degree is strongly preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related). **Work Experience** + The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of progressive experience (post-graduate school) or 5+ years of progressive experience (pre-graduate school) working within the healthcare practice of a leading strategy and management consulting firm in ?Project Leader,? or ?Manager? level roles, and with experience leading strategy, M&A, partnerships, and transformation projects for clients that are large, complex healthcare organizations or academic medical centers. + Ideal candidates may also have similar experience working within similar professional services firms in the Private Equity or Investment Banking industries + Candidates without experience in consulting or similar professional services industries will be considered and should have at least 7 years of work experience and at least 5 years of progressive experience in M&A, partnerships, transformation, strategy, strategic planning, strategic investing, or related fields within the context of large, complex healthcare organizations or academic medical centers. **Skills** + Demonstrated success in leading and executing transactions, partnerships, strategy design, opportunity assessments, competitive analysis, and business case development in healthcare. + Exceptional analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills, with expertise in opportunity assessment and data-driven decision making. + Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communications, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills. + Exceptional written presentation skills using Power Point and Word to tell compelling stories that support decision making and stakeholder buy in. + Ability to influence at all levels and build trusted relationships with senior leaders, faculty leaders, and external partners. + Experience working in or with academic health systems is preferred. + Experience with analysis in the New York metro market is a plus. + Experience conducting advanced analytics using tools like SQL, Python, and R is a plus. Non-Bargaining Unit, M7H - MSO Specialty Care and Partnerships - MSH, Mount Sinai Hospital **Responsibilities** The Director has the following responsibilities: 1. **Opportunity Leadership:** For high priority initiatives, as assigned by the VP of Corporate Development, lead the end-to-end process of framing, evaluation, and execution to bring the opportunity to fruition. 1. Interface with internal and external stakeholders 2. conduct analytics 3. develop a business case 4. evaluate contracts and lead and support negotiations 5. as relevant, manage internal or external resources to execute the work. 6. develop executive communications to update and/or seek decisions from the appropriate governance bodies 2. **Talent Development:** 1. Provide mentorship and professional development coaching to more junior members of the team. 2. Support the hiring and development of talent to build a high-performance growth-oriented culture 3. Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and results-oriented team culture. 3. **External Networking & Lead Generation:** 1. As designated by the VP of Corporate Development, the Director will represent the MSHS externally to cultivate relationships and identify new business opportunities. This may involve attending conferences or participating in speaking events. 4. **Special Projects:** Support the VP, Corporate Development on special projects as required. **Reporting Structure & Location** + The Director will report directly to the Vice President of Portfolio Strategy & Corporate Development. + Expectations are for the role to be performed primarily in-person, at Mount Sinai’s Corporate Office with occasional visits to Mount Sinai’s facilities and office throughout the NYC Metropolitan area as required. The salary range for the role is $153723 - $230584 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
