What the day will look like + Client advisory and servicing + Client relationship management + Discover client’s needs in comprehensive manner, evaluating risk exposures and insurance needs (e.g. CAR/EAR, OCIP/CCIP, DSU, general liability, environmental, professional indemnity, workers' compensation, equipment insurance). + Set service scope and expectations + Act as a trusted advisor to clients, including contractors, developers, project owners and financiers. + Analyze project specific risks and recommend appropriate risk management strategies, risk allocation and insurance solutions. + Review client’s contractual insurance requirements with project owners, contractors, financers, regulators and local authorities. + Advise on local statutory insurance requirements, stay updated on industry regulations and construction risk management standards. + Prepare and review insurance and broker RFP proposals, policies and endorsements, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. + Lead negotiations with major clients and manage relationships with client’s senior executives. + Insurance Placement and Claims + Design and place sophisticated insurance and risk transfer programs for complex construction projects. + Build and maintain strong, senior-level relationships with insurers and underwriters. + Stay ahead of market trends, ensuring access to innovative insurance products and tailored solutions. + Lead all aspects of complex claims management and work with Claims Team to support clients through dispute resolution. + Business Development & Growth + Identify new market opportunities and drive growth for the construction insurance segment. + Participate in new business pitches, RFP responses, and cross-selling efforts. + Delivering Aon United (DAU) + Propose solutions across risk, insurance and other solution pillars that Aon offers + Engage and work closely with various Aon business units, specialties and regional teams to deliver appropriate Aon United solutions for clients + Keep up to date on Aon IQ and wide range of innovative solutions across all Aon business units + Deliver and utilise client-related value propositions, systems and processes including (but not limited to) Aon Brokers Guide, Data Center Life-cycle Product. + Lead and grow a team of colleagues specializing in construction + Provide guidance on technical and client servicing matters + Support staff on organic growth and new business development + To achieve team annual budget + Mentor staff in their professional development + Build, motivate and maintain a cohesive High-Performance Team + Beyond own team + Be a subject matter expert on construction industry and solutions + Develop/share solutions beyond own immediate team + Participate in and contribute to winning new clients + Work on projects and cross-department collaborations + Stay aligned to regulations and company procedures and processes + Any other roles and responsibilities assigned How this opportunity is different Aon’s Commercial Risk Solutions provides high quality risk and insurance advisory and placement services to a wide range of corporate organizations in Singapore. The Director, Construction role serves as a senior leader who deliver insurance and risk management solutions for major construction clients. This role combines client advisory with leadership on broking, market relationships, and business development. The Director is responsible for setting strategic direction, provision of consulting and broking service, and driving the growth and innovation of construction risk management and insurance offerings.
