MLB is hiring a Director, Content & Marketing Analytics to help ensure its efforts to reach, retain, and grow baseball’s fanbase are successful. The role will provide analyses and strategic insight into MLB’s Content and Marketing efforts to inform, engage, and monetize its audiences. This position will lead both Content and Marketing analytics teams and focus on leveraging data to improve marketing and content performance for Major League Baseball and its Clubs. The ideal candidate will be an experienced analytical and technical leader with deep understanding of both creative/content distribution and marketing attribution. They will thrive in a fast-paced, proactive, and collaborative environment. This role will serve as a valued cross-functional contributor, comfortable speaking
with a range of executives, peers, and stakeholders across highly technical and strategic topics.
Responsibilities
Lead MLB’s content analytics team, measuring and communicating how MLB’s content reaches and engages fans across owned, distributed, and third-party channels (including social media) Lead MLB’s performance marketing analytics team, ensuring key paid and owned channels are optimized for reach, engagement, and/or ROI Scope, manage, and deliver analytics projects of all sizes that support MLB’s marketing and content initiatives Work collaboratively to design, implement, maintain, and evaluate marketing mix models and attribution efforts Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and measure effectiveness of content programs and marketing campaigns, presenting findings and recommendations Manage new and existing vendor relationships for both content and marketing data Support baseball Clubs with analytical frameworks and best practices to ensure accurate and useful measurement, analyses, and insight generation from Club marketing initiatives Further MLB’s use of key marketing technologies, identity graphs, and automation platforms Serve as key advisor to senior executives and partner to key stakeholders on marketing and digital content strategy initiatives Develop Marketing analysts into high-performing contributors capable of managing and leading their own small to medium sized projects across stakeholdersQualifications & Skills
7-10 years of professional or academic experience in digital marketing and/or content distribution analytics, with demonstrable examples of success and accountability 2+ years of managerial experience Experience and familiarity with earned, owned, and paid media data and measurement Familiarity with the Adobe Experience Cloud Platform and Analytics, and/or similar Marketing attribution platforms Experience developing and managing marketing mix and attribution modeling projects Familiarity with the modern media landscape and content distribution platforms, especially social media and streaming partners Advanced knowledge of data mining and manipulation languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python) Highly professional manner and excellent written and verbal skills Knowledge of baseball and the sports media landscape; a sports fan is highly preferredSalary Range: $170,000 - $225,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus
