Director, Commercial Planning
The Enablement & Operations (E&O) team enables Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Team to better serve every person and organization’s transformation and economic success. How? The MCAPS E&O Revenue Operations team empowers every person in MCAPS to serve customers by activating and innovating the Microsoft commercial revenue engine. We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Director, Commercial Planning, responsible for orchestrating the global Fiscal Year (FY) Planning process and driving alignment across MCAPS commercial priorities. In this role, you will lead the MCAPS planning community across core and regional teams and serve as a key leader within the E&O Planning team. You will own the end-to-end FY planning journey—from retrospectives to landing the strategy at MCAPS Leadership Summit —ensuring clarity, cohesion, and timely execution. Your work will bring structure to planning milestones, shape key narratives, and guide stakeholders on what’s happening, what’s next, and what’s due. Partner with the broader planning team to align decision-making with execution and collaborate with change management to translate strategy into activation. **Cross-Functional Program Design** + Design and operationalize the fiscal year (FY) planning framework, milestones, and deliverables in partnership with global and regional stakeholders. Ensure alignment onobjectives, timelines, and success metrics while proactively identifying and mitigating risks. **Operational Excellence & Execution** + Drive the Cross-MCAPS Planning rhythym of business (ROB) with forward-looking visibility and coordination. Ensure planning milestones are executed with consistency, quality, and accountability across all stakeholder groups. **Change Enablement & Communication** + Translate strategic decisions into clear, role-specific landing materials that support adoption of fiscal year changes. Drive a connected narrative across MCAPS, ensuring readiness and clarity at all levels of the organization. **Business Insights & Continuous Improvement** + Evaluate planning effectiveness through performance tracking, stakeholder feedback, and cost-benefit analysis. Lead artifical intelligence (AI)-driven workflow transformation initiatives in partnership with RevOps SMEs to improve efficiency and impact. **Cross-Organizational Leadership** + Foster v-team collaboration across MCAPS and partner organizations. Act as the connective tissue across RevOps teams—ensuring unified messaging, seamless integration, and a culture of trust, shared ownership, and continuous learning. **Other** + Embody our Culture (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values) and Values (https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/culture) **Qualifications** **Required/minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 5+ yearswork experience in business consulting, sales operations, program management, process management, process improvement or a related field + OR equivalent experience. + 4+ years experience in project/program management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change). + 2+ years experience leading communication strategy & execution for senior leadership audience. + 2+ years experience with driving or partnering with organizational planning. **Additional or preferred qualifications** + Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR equivalent experience. Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
