Director, Claims Data Analytics and Operational Strategy

We are seeking an innovative and strategic-minded Director of Data Analytics and Operational Insights to lead our Claims Department in enhancing operational efficiency, managing costs, and supporting digital transformation initiatives and projects. This role is integral to the optimization of our claims and network provider operations and will be responsible for developing strategies and leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making and improve service delivery. This role involves managing or collaborating with a team of claims professionals and working closely with other departments to enhance customer service and operational excellence.
**Position Responsibilities:**
Operations and Performance Management:
+ Develop and oversee comprehensive KPIs reporting for people, processes, and systems.
+ Analyze productivity metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
+ Monitor headcount costs and optimize workforce allocation and performance.
+ Evaluate process efficiency, including complaints management, claims costs, and utilization rates.
+ Assess and manage financial impacts related to operational processes and systems.
2. Project Management and Digital Transformation:
+ Collaborate with Digital Lead and stakeholders to lead project cost estimation, resource allocation, and recharge models.
+ Prepare and present benefits realization reports to stakeholders.
+ Lead initiatives to enhance data accessibility and quality in systems modernization to ensure alignment with broader digital transformation goals.
3. Claims Costs and Risk Management:
+ Analyze claims data to identify cost-saving opportunities and risk areas.
+ Develop strategies to manage claims costs effectively and minimize financial risk.
+ Implement predictive analytics to forecast trends and mitigate potential risks.
4. Health Services Utilization:
+ Conduct detailed analyses of health services utilization patterns.
+ Provide insights to optimize the use of health services and improve patient outcomes.
+ Develop and implement strategies for efficient resource utilization.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
+ Act as a liaison between the Claims Department and other business units.
+ Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive collaborative solutions.
6. System Modernization and Technology Integration:
+ Champion the adoption of advanced analytical tools and platforms.
+ Lead initiatives for system modernization and integration of new technologies.
+ Ensure data integrity and security across all reporting systems.
7. Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:
+ Ensure all analytics and reporting processes comply with regulatory standards and company standards.
+ Prepare accurate and timely reports for audits and regulatory submissions.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
+ A minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance claims management or a related area is required, with at least 3 to 5 years in a leadership role.
+ Extensive experience in data analytics, operations management, and project management, preferably in claims, healthcare or insurance sector.
+ Proven track record of leading initiatives to enhance data accessibility and quality in system modernization projects.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
+ Attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy in claims management.
+ Proficiency with data analytics tools and platforms, with a focus on ensuring data integrity and security across all reporting systems.
