**Job Summary**
+ The Dir, Business Applications is responsible for directing a diverse, distributed team focused on business analysis, governance, project management, development, and application support.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Participate in the facilitation of effective and proactive business engagement through strategic planning, requirements definition, analysis, application support, issue resolution and ongoing training.
+ Oversee the business governance process to help define priorities, rationalize needs, facilitate consensus, maintain business accountability, and drive near / long-term roadmaps.
+ Engage in expert project management disciplines using appropriate methodologies, tools, and best practices.
+ Direct application functions including analysis, requirements definition, development / configuration, testing, user acceptance, release management, system administration and production support.
+ Participate in providing strategic guidance on application solutions, architectures, and support for business processes.
+ Drive ERP solution directly supporting thousands of business users located in 250+ locations.
+ Oversee the team that develops and maintains specialty web and mobile solutions, integrated with the core ERP solution.
+ Provide direction on integration architectures, data management, custom application development, and data warehouse / BI reporting.
+ Lead quality assurance through discipline in test planning, test execution, user acceptance and release management.
+ Partner with the VP to define and implement business application team policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
+ Manage a diverse team across multiple locations, including all recruiting, staffing, role definition, goal setting and performance management.
+ Leverage 3rd party application services and consulting expertise as appropriate.
+ Partner with the VP to define, maintain and enhance relevant IT service levels and metrics.
+ Support IT leadership functions including annual planning, budgeting, status reporting, executive presentations, and continuous improvement.
+ Participate in the implementation and management of application-related key controls, information security, compliance processes and ongoing audit support.
**Education and Experience:**
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher.
+ 7+ years of directly relevant IT application experience.
+ 4+ years leading an overall IT team of 30+.
+ 2+ years direct experience with mobile application platforms and business support (design, development, management of 3rd parties, etc.).
+ In-depth experience with top-tier ERP solution leadership, with Oracle EnterpriseOne preferred.
+ Experience designing, developing, and supporting business and customer-facing web solutions using relevant technologies (Drupal, SharePoint, etc.).
+ Experience with best of breed software solutions and cloud services, such as Kronos, MS Dynamics, Salesforce.com, Hyperion, AWS and Cognos / TM1.
+ Experience with data warehouse / BI reporting solution design and delivery.
+ Experience with Microsoft-centric custom application development using .NET, Silverlight, C++, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, etc.
+ Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation.
+ Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and/or key controls pertaining to IT application management.
+ Outstanding execution skills with ability to deliver on strategic concepts through the use of rigorous methodologies and effective project management.
+ Hands-on, collaborative leadership style with a heavy focus on business engagement.
+ Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work autonomously.
+ Ability to articulate value-based solutions to complex business problems.
+ Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and evolving environment.
+ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to craft and deliver presentations to senior business executives.
+ Experience working with distributed teams.
+ Experience managing, hiring, mentoring, and training application teams.
+ Proven track record of delivering large-scale, cross-functional projects.
+ Practical expertise with IT governance, annual planning, steering committee facilitation, etc.
**Physical Demands/Requirements:**
+ Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers.
+ Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time
+ Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence
+ Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur
