Director, Applications Support

 

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Applications Support to lead our enterprise applications team with a strong emphasis on JD Edwards (JDE) within a manufacturing environment. This leadership role requires 10+ years of experience working with JD Edwards, 10+ years in team management, and 5+ years of project management experience. The Director will be responsible for aligning ERP and enterprise applications with the operational and strategic needs of the business, particularly in areas such as production, inventory, procurement, and supply chain. 

What you will be doing:

Provide strategic direction and oversight for the support, development, and optimization of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (or World) applications and related enterprise systems. 

Lead and mentor a team of application analysts, developers, and project managers supporting manufacturing operations. 

Drive continuous improvement and alignment between enterprise applications and core manufacturing business processes (e.g., shop floor control, MRP, procurement, inventory, quality). 

Lead key initiatives, including ERP upgrades, module rollouts, and system integrations (e.g., MES, WMS, PLM). 

Collaborate with senior leadership, including operations, supply chain, finance, and engineering, to understand business needs and translate them into application strategies and solutions. 

Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the JD Edwards ERP system to support business growth. 

Maintain compliance with industry regulations, IT standards, and internal governance policies. 

Develop and manage budgets, vendor contracts, and service agreements related to enterprise applications. 

Oversee the project lifecycle for key initiatives—scoping, planning, resourcing, implementation, and evaluation. 

Establish and track KPIs for application performance, support responsiveness, and user satisfaction. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

10+ years of experience with JD Edwards (EnterpriseOne or World), specifically in manufacturing operations. 

10+ years of IT or application team leadership experience. 

5+ years of direct project management experience in ERP or enterprise application environments. 

Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and JD Edwards modules including Manufacturing Management, Inventory, Procurement, and Shop Floor Control. 

Proven track record of leading high-performing application support teams. 

Experience managing complex projects across cross-functional teams. 

Strong vendor management, budgeting, and strategic planning skills. 

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and change management abilities. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 

PMP certification or equivalent project management training. 

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365 BC), particularly in hybrid or multi-ERP environments. 

Familiarity with JD Edwards CNC and Tools administration. 

Experience integrating ERP with MES, PLM, or other shop floor technologies. 

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
