(https://www.boehringer-ingelheim.com/us/careers/benefits-rewards) ​ **Duties & Responsibilities** + Serve as the primary legal advisor on AI governance and data privacy matters, in alignment with Artificial Intelligence Responsibly (AIR), across Human Pharma and Animal Health business units. + Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to AI, data privacy, and emerging technologies. Monitor and interpret evolving laws and regulations related to AI and data privacy, and assess their impact on the organization. + Evaluate high-risk AI models and provide legal guidance on risk mitigation strategies and document reviews in the AI risk radar/model inventory, including classification by risk level and business purpose). + Collaborate closely with the AI Center of Excellence (CoE) to align business valuation of AI use cases with legal and regulatory risk profiles. Collaborate with other cross-functional teams, including the Global Data Privacy & AI Team. + Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for AI governance and data privacy. + Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on AI governance, data privacy, and ethical AI use. + Represent the organization in discussions with regulators, industry groups, and external stakeholders on AI and data privacy issues. + Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Motivate, foster buy-in, support, and enthusiasm for AI initiatives compliantly. **Requirements** + Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state. + Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, and 5+ years in pharma with a focus on data privacy, technology law, and AI governance. + Privacy Certification(s)like IAPP-CIPM/CIPT/CIPP(US) or equivalent are a plus + Advance degree in data privacy and protection program management, data governance, security and/or privacy technology management related topics preferred + Team player with collaborative skills + In-depth knowledge of U.S. data privacy laws (e.g., state consumer protection laws, + State AI regulations, FTC, HIPAA and AI regulatory landscape knowledge/experience + Strong analytica, communication, and leadership skills. Experience working in or advising the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is preferred. **Eligibility Requirements** : + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. + Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required). + Must be 18 years of age or older.
