PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Director of Commercial Excellence provides strategic leadership to advance commercial effectiveness by aligning people, processes, and insights with enterprise strategy, mission, and core values. This role enables scalable, data-driven execution across the commercial organization to drive sustainable performance, organizational effectiveness, and long-term business outcomes. The role partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategy into execution, guide decision-making through actionable insights, develop high-performing teams, and ensure governance, compliance, and operational rigor across commercial initiatives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide strategic leadership to define and execute short- and long-term commercial excellence objectives aligned with enterprise strategy, mission, and core values.Lead and optimize commercial operations and enablement processes to improve effectiveness, scalability, and performance across the commercial organization.Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on commercial performance, operational strategy, analytics, and organizational effectiveness.Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, providing coaching, technical guidance, succession planning, and talent development in partnership with Human Resources.Translate complex data and analyses into clear, actionable insights for executive and non-technical stakeholders.Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of commercial initiatives.Establish and maintain effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.Support and lead special initiatives and projects, as assigned.Additional responsibilities may include focus on one or more departments or locations. MBA preferred. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS10+ years of experience in sales operations or similar field. Experience with digital transformation is preferred.Strong analytical & strategic thinking skills with experience using CRM and reporting tools (SFDC, Clari, Tableau, Bus Objects) and using AI to increase productivityStrong background in sales operations for a large sales focused organization.Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills. Demonstrated ability in driving change. Skilled at leading cross-functional initiatives and driving adoption in a fast-paced environment.Experienced, strategic & innovated with demonstrated success with distributed selling teams.The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate’s work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.
