YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role Direct Tax – State Income Tax Senior Manager are to:
This position reports directly to the North America Head of Tax and has close working relationships with the Direct Tax Lead, the other functional US Tax Teams and GBS. The jobholder provides content and support for all state income tax activities in scope. The position requires deep knowledge and consistent application of relevant tax rules and internal procedures for tax returns.
Supports all legal entities regarding state income tax from a content, compliance and process perspective;Provides knowledge and support as needed in the frame of the abovementioned activities;Interprets new / changed tax laws and regulations and the respective application of these (within the frameworks given) to the legal entities in scope in close cooperation with Direct Tax Lead as well as with internal and external partners;Partners effectively with US Tax R2R/Partnering team, Tax GPOs and GBS to optimize any of the relevant Tax processes through the identification / implementation of automation and continuous improvements opportunities;Partners effectively with Enabling function and divisions to ensure quality at source (wherever applicable);Assesses new / changed business scenarios to minimize tax exposures and risks in close cooperation with Direct Tax Lead as well as with internal and external partners;Collaborates with and supports internal Bayer and external advisor(s) in their work.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
B/BS in Finance, Accounting, Law and/or Tax;Deep knowledge in the fields of Direct Tax, Tax procedural law and Tax Accounting;Excellent knowledge about local tax law and regulations related to direct taxes and more specifically to state income taxHigh competency in organizational networking and partnering with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Qualification as a CPA, certified tax advisor;12+ years of professional work experience in tax, preferably in an industrial, consulting or tax administrative environment;Hands on experience in ERP software, tax recording, tax calculation and tax reporting tools.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $146,714 to $220,071. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
