The Direct Materials Category Leader plays a critical role in supporting the Global Procurement Category team through data-driven insights and strategic collaboration. This position is responsible for consolidating and analyzing procurement data, conducting market research, and fostering strong relationships across global and regional teams. The role contributes to category strategies, optimizes the supply base, and ensures procurement processes deliver measurable value.
You will:
Compile, analyze, and present procurement data to support category strategies. Serve as the primary resource for consolidated data, ensuring insights lead to accurate conclusions and informed decisions.Leverage systems and databases to provide consistent, meaningful analytics that enhance procurement performance globally.Partner with procurement colleagues across regions to gather insights, align strategies, and share best practices.Establish and maintain strong relationships between Global and Regional/Local Procurement teams to ensure transparency on projects, contracts, and supplier selections.Execute end-to-end category management practices aligned with the Strategic Procurement Plan. Drive initiatives that optimize spend, deliver tangible savings, and achieve KPIs in line with annual targets.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field.Minimum 3 years in procurement at a global/regional level, 2-5 years in data analytics.Strong analytical ability to draw conclusions and make decisions with limited data.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in presenting complex data clearly and persuasively.Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
