About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Direct Material Buyer specialized in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to support procurement activities on the NFS project. The Buyer will manage the full purchasing cycle for complex electrical and instrumentation equipment, working closely with Engineering, Project Procurement, and Supplier Management teams. This role requires strong technical purchasing expertise, negotiation skills, and the ability to operate in a fast?paced EPC project environment.

Key Responsibilities
 Procurement Activities Analyse technical and commercial documentation to define procurement needs for E&I equipment. Develop and participate in purchasing strategy definition in alignment with the Project Procurement Manager, Purchasing Section Head, and Lead Buyer. Prepare and launch RFQs, coordinate communication with suppliers, and conduct negotiations following Global Supply & Procurement rules. Collaborate with multidisciplinary Engineering teams (Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & System, Telecom) to align technical and commercial offers. Prepare all required procurement deliverables in accordance with internal procedures and project requirements. Draft purchase orders and all associated attachments. Supplier Management & Negotiation Participate in shortlisting and commercial clarification meetings with suppliers under the guidance of the Lead Buyer. Review, analyse, and negotiate change order requests, including pricing evaluations, benchmarks, and consistency checks. Support Vendor Performance Management and monitor execution of supplier orders when required.  Tendering & Cost Support Contribute to equipment cost estimates during tendering phases in cooperation with Engineering, Proposals, and Estimating departments.

Required Skills & Experience Technical & Purchasing Expertise Strong mastery of technical purchasing, ideally within an EPC or construction company. Experience in procuring complex technical packages such as: Electrical equipment Industrial valves Control systems (SCADA, DCS) Standards & Tools Knowledge of applicable industry codes: API, AISC. Familiarity with API, ASTM, IEC standards is considered an asset. Ability to use standard calculation tools related to the discipline. Professional Competencies Proven ability to analyse complex documentation. Strong negotiation and supplier communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and procurement teams. Rigorous, structured, and proactive in managing deadlines and priorities.
