TDS Investment Banking Technology team is responsible for building scalable tech to deliver datasets, analytical tools, and workflow automation to front-line bankers. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Investment Banking Technology to lead the strategic planning, development, and management of technology platforms that support our global Investment Banking division. This leadership role requires close collaboration with business leaders, front-office teams, and other technology partners to deliver scalable, secure, and cutting-edge solutions that drive efficiency, compliance, and revenue growth.
Role Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute the technology roadmap for investment banking, aligned with business objectives and the firm’s enterprise architecture.Team Management: Lead and mentor cross-functional technology teams, including application development, systems architecture, data engineering, and support services. Recruit world-class technical talent to support IB initiatives.Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted partner to investment banking leadership, understanding business needs and translating them into technical solutions.Platform Delivery: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of platforms and tools that support M&A advisory, equity/debt capital markets, and underwriting activities.Innovation & Modernization: Identify and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, cloud computing, data analytics) to enhance decision-making and automate workflows.Regulatory & Risk Compliance: Ensure systems comply with internal policies and external regulations, with a strong focus on cybersecurity and operational resilience.Vendor & Budget Management: Manage vendor relationships and technology budgets, ensuring cost-effective procurement and deployment of third-party tools and services.A successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).10+ years of experience in financial services technology, with at least 5 years in investment banking or capital markets.Proven experience managing large-scale technology programs and leading diverse technical teams.Deep understanding of investment banking products, workflows, and regulatory requirements.Strong expertise in application architecture, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).Knowledge of trading systems, deal lifecycle platforms, and front-to-back investment banking processes.Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.The Director - Tech Solutions TDS Management builds and maintains strong business relationship with assigned clients / internal partners and provides direction and guidance on optimal technology solutions/services to meet business needs. The position generally manages a varied team of IT professionals and bridges the gap between the business and technology, and leverages resources across functional or specialized technology areas to ensure end to end delivery of agreed upon solutions or services within planned forecasts / cost estimates. Role generally supports a significant Business area, Product Group, Enterprise Platform, Service or Capability within a Segment CIO or Functional area.
