The Director, LAC Subregion is a key leadership position in the organization, leading a team responsible for end-to-end footprint operations across the American Express sites in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) geographic region (Mexico & Argentina).
End to End Operations Responsibilities
Responsible for leading an organization of over 500 internal and external HC for end-to-end footprint operations across the Plan / Build / Run E&PS functions for the LAC portfolio of 3 sites. Lead the organization to manage the day-to-day service delivery across 500k square feet and 3+ properties, supporting over 4,000 Amex colleagues. Also includes the direct management of our Florida location.
Business Alignment / Partnership
Leads a team of regional, cross functional leaders that partner with the business. The team is comprised of leaders who connect with business leaders across Amex such that working with GREWE is seamless and frictionless from the customers point of view. This leader will establish and cultivate a close business relationship with key leaders, especially those in our Sunrise location.
Facilities Management (Hard Services) Community of Practice Leader
Builds, leads, and influences a team of Facilities Management Hard Services leaders across the Americas. This team will be responsible for the proactive maintenance, repairs, and risk management of all AMERs sites, and this leader will be a subject matter expert on provisioning hard services, working with this cross functional team to proactively maintain our AMERs footprint.
General Executive Engagements
Has direct and frequent executive engagement with senior leaders, GREWE LT, CFOs, and others at the Band 50+ level.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Relationship Lead and Space Planning (75%)
Cultivate relationships with Business Units (BUs) to understand requirements to support demand forecasting and solutions development.
Define, plan, implement, measure and improve GREWE offerings while balancing enterprise objectives, GREWE resources and BU requirements.
Deliver the strategic workplace known as BlueWork and execute other workplace strategies to maximize utilization.
Develop, drive and verify implementation of GREWE initiatives ensuring appropriate change management and communication throughout the process.
Work with GREWE team members including Operations Excellence, Transaction Management, Design and Construction, Facilities Management, Workplace Services and their contracted resources to ensure project initiatives are executed according to plan, aligned with BU expectations and in accordance with service level agreements and key performance indicators.
Prepare aggressive but achievable solutions for business partners adjusting as necessary based on changing circumstances.
Partner with Colleague Experience Group, Digital Workplace, Security, Communications and other key functional areas for solution development and seamless delivery of GREWE initiatives
Bring new ideas and innovation to current processes and solutions.
Deliver an exceptional customer and colleague experience.
Direct Property Management (15%)
Responsible for the Mexico City & Argentina strategy and operations, including partnerships with local stakeholders (landlords, city, neighbors, tenants, etc.)
Leads a team of cross functional leaders and functional experts to manage Amex’s LAC region
Establish and cultivates a close business relationship with key Amex leaders to develop a Sunrise plan and deliver operations excellence. This will be in partnership with the VP, GREWE Americas Operations.
End to End Management of the Sub-region (10%)
Leads an organization of 500 people to deliver end to end services (Workplace Experience, Project Delivery, Facilities Operations) on 3+ LAC sites.
Responsible for 3+ properties, 0.5 million square feet
Oversees and leads an organization of 1-2 internal Amex employees, and 500+ external employees
Supports workplace and facilities for over 4,000 Amex colleagues
Delivers P&L impact across a budget of $35 million annually P&L
Responsible to direct end to end Amex property strategies for the LAC region
Footprint Planning: Deliver master plans for all sites under responsibility, focused on improving workplace experience and delivering profitability
Lead the delivery of FM Operations – hard and soft services: driving operations excellence, reducing down time, proactively mitigating risk, and delivering the most efficient properties possible
Oversight (dotted line) of a sub-regional project delivery activities to manage/deliver projects supporting LAC footprint transformation
Accountable for site risk management including EHS, crisis management, and maintaining quality
Additional Responsibilities
Position will serve on the Amex GREWE Americas LT
Serves as the key partner to WHQ stakeholders
May serve on external boards of directors in industry groups: Corenet, IAMC, etc.
Rotating member of other councils as appropriate
Required Qualifications
University/Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
10+ years' work experience
5+ years' people management experience
Minimum of 10 years of Operations or CRE or facilities experience (or equivalent) is required
Minimum of 10 years managing large teams
Deep knowledge of operations management, real estate, hospitality, FM, and/or delivering capital projects in a footprint environment
Preferred Qualifications
University/Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, MBA preferred
Degree in operations, business or equivalent, is strongly preferred
CFM, MCR, SLCR certifications
