The Director of Catering & Hospitality (DOC) is a senior leader who drives this vision by overseeing the complete event life cycle—from initial inquiry through execution—while upholding the highest standards of service, sales performance, and operational excellence. This position is embedded onsite and serves as a vital extension of our client’s culture, managing all catering, conference, and event-related needs while supporting the alignment between Constellation and partner venues. The DOC will lead their team, develop strategic relationships, and ensure flawless delivery across all guest experiences. **What you'll be doing:** Direct Sales and Sales Management Sales & Event Leadership • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of catering and event sales, from inquiry to execution, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and polish in every client interaction. • Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of sales managers, event producers to deliver flawless guest experiences. • Foster a high-performance culture by establishing clear KPIs, conducting regular coaching, and providing timely feedback. • Conduct team service audits and training in key areas, including: Elevated table-side and buffet service standards. Guest communication and brand representation. Beverage service, event setup, and teardown protocols • Champion internal collaboration with culinary, operations, and marketing partners to ensure full alignment and consistent execution. • Serve as the primary liaison between Constellation and key stakeholders to support seamless coordination across event touchpoints. • Maintain consistent visibility at events, tastings, and walkthroughs to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold Constellation standards. • Build a deep understanding of client expectations, including cultural and brand alignment, and translate those into actionable, high-impact event experiences. • Utilize catering software to create and price client proposals, including managing revisions, while also providing support to sales managers with pricing and proposal development as needed. Proposals are comprised of four major areas: menu, beverage, staff and equipment rental • Ensure compliance with all Elior mandated companywide trainings and courses • Run weekly sales meetings at the unit level • Hire, train and mentor team members in their org chart – performance reviews, disciplinary activities – etc • Participate, conduct client meetings, visits and tastings Financial Performance • Responsible for maintaining A/R accountability at the unit • Monitor event profitability to ensure that events are sold and executed according to company standards and budget • Ensure that all event deposits, payments, and invoicing reflect the company policies and procedures • Monitor staffing levels on each event to ensure proper service standards are achieved and profitability maintained according to budget Marketing This will be a collaborative approach with Marketing to ensure the successful development of the brand • Creating brand collateral with the Marketing department as need arises • Establish signature marketing events to bring awareness of our offerings to the event planning industry • Regularly networking to increase notoriety and buzz surrounding events at venue • Establish market comp analysis annually to ensure the competitive offerings and pricing for the area Technical Knowledge The DOC must possess a working knowledge of the systems used within the company. The DOC must be proficient in the following • Opening & closing procedures • Producing accurate monthly reporting • Food and beverage knowledge • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite– inclusive of Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook **What we're looking for:** Qualifications: + 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing high-volume food and beverage/catering operations either within a hotel, cultural institution, or premier catering company.
