What We Offer Works under the supervision of the Nutrition Care Coordinators, Food and Nutrition Management. Responsible for providing exemplary menu and meal services to patients on assigned units. Actively processes and maintains patient diet orders, assists patients with daily menu selections, meets or exceeds patients’ meal requests, resolves tray service or food service issues, prepares and serves patient meals and nourishments, and inventories and delivers nourishments supplies for assigned units. Participates in department performance improvement activities. What You'll Do • Demonstrates a daily commitment to meeting or exceeding the established Standards of Performance. • Provides meal selection to assigned patients utilizing bedside menu entry technology. Offers alternative menu selections when necessary and strives to meet patient meal requests whenever possible. • Maintains diet office computer system, telephones, printers and facsimile machines by entering correct information and providing appropriate, timely responses. • Maintains exemplary customer service on assigned unit and initiates efforts to resolve concerns. • Prepares tray tickets, nourishments, meeting or exceeding each patient’s needs. Retrieves patient trays following each meal period and return for ware washing. • Prepares tallied and assigned menu items for patient meals and nourishments, adhering to food safety guidelines. • Serves patient meal trays and nourishments, meeting or exceeding each patient’s needs. Retrieves patient trays following each meal period and return for ware washing. • Inventories, orders and delivers assigned nursing unit bulk nourishment supplies. Monitors temperatures of unit refrigerators and rotates supplies appropriately. • Cleans equipment and workspaces according to sanitation guidelines. • Practices appropriate written and verbal communication as necessary to support patient care duties and general operations. • Supports program operations by demonstrating flexibility and adaptability with work assignments. Follow assigned work schedule and job outlines. • Applies sound judgment in problems solving and prioritizing of duties. • Manages job duties effectively and efficiently. Performs all required activities with minimal oversight needed. • Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. • Maintains good attendance per Novant’s Attendance Policy What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Experience: Two year’s experience in restaurant, hotel or customer service setting, required. Licensure/Certification: Serv Safe certification, preferred.
