**Your role and responsibilities**
Work you could do as a Consultant Intern: The IBM Payments Centre provides a variety of payment solutions to clients, and our specialized teams serve these needs. As an IBMer you will collaborate with colleagues in a team-focused environment, working with different perspectives to drive exceptional outcomes for our customers. This position is open to applicants who reside in Toronto and is open to applicants seeking a 4-month internship work term, commencing in Jan 2026. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of their work term.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Basic understanding of Agile and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles
* Understanding of user-centered design and service design concepts (e.g., journey mapping, blueprinting)
* Strong presentation skills via MS PowerPoint, with the ability to simplify complex topics for stakeholders
* Curiosity about consulting and digital transformation in enterprise settings
* Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
* Attention to detail and ability to track dependencies, blockers, and progress
* Analytical thinking for breaking down problems into actionable tasks
* Time management skills to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Applying AI and other emerging technologies to product development
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Ability to write clear, concise user stories with acceptance criteria
* Comfort with interpreting and working against a product roadmap
* Exposure to the role of a Scrum Master (e.g., facilitating standups, backlog refinement)
* Basic knowledge of technical concepts (APIs, web/mobile development, or software lifecycle)
* Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar work management tools
* Familiarity with product strategy, MVP definition, or value stream thinking
