A. BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to work closely with the PR & Communications Director and the Senior Marketing Manager to coordinate, plan, implement, evaluate, and monitor digital marketing functions and social media. Works with divisional administration and local Corps Officers to develop plans for increased fund raising from individuals. Coordinates and plans digital activities and implements consistent communications campaigns through social media and via email. Is also responsible for assisting with planning and executing large events as needed. Helps with field communications as needed.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Management, Email Marketing & Online Fundraising
a. Contribute to the Marketing Content Calendar with projected digital campaigns and content throughout the year.
b. Serve as the master user of Hootsuite for Del Oro; take ownership of all social media content and scheduling.
c. Integrate national and territorial content/campaigns into our website and social media.
d. Implement marketing content across Del Oro websites and social media.
e. Consistently communicate digital marketing activities with the field.
i) Maintain a great relationship with officers and consult with them on their digital needs.
f. Create engaging text, images and embedded video content to increase website and social traffic.
g. Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and engagement metrics.
h. Suggest new ways to promote Army programs and attract new donors.
i. Use the Adobe Create Suite and other graphics software to edit photos and create eye-catching graphics for the website and social media posts.
j. Monitor all Del Oro social media accounts for inappropriate content; facilitate online conversations with followers and donors; respond to queries.
k. Work with Corps, Service Extension Units, Fundraisers and more to create custom email marketing campaigns through approved Del Oro Divisional platforms.
l. Track the Territorial email program; create custom emails as needed (working with Jerikho at THQ or using the Divisional MailChimp account.)

m. Serve as the primary power user of Classy, TSA’s digital fundraising platform; quickly deliver online fundraising campaigns as needed.
i) Create all new fundraising campaigns
ii) Be the lead on digital Christmas campaigns, including Virtual Red Kettle
iii) Obtain new appeal codes, ensure accuracy of appeal codes
n. Keep the Del Oro section of SharePoint updated.
o. Research audience preferences and discover current trends.
p. Maintain Google Trends report; integrate important topics and keywords into digital content (Search Engine Optimization).
q. Track Google Analytics and social media analytics; provide all necessary digital metrics.
r. Design social media posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and bolster digital fundraising.
s. Stay up to date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.
t. Serve as backup for Senior Marketing Manager in creating print marketing materials and website management.

C. Donor Relations
u. Communicate with donors over social media and through email to repair relationship if dissatisfied with any marketing campaign.
v. Respond to direct messages on social media and emails from donors who have questions or concerns about the Army or our programs.
D. Events
w. Assist with planning and executing large events as needed.
x. Assist in planning and execution of existing events; i.e. Annual Luncheon, Helping Handbags, etc.
y. Work closely with Print Marketing Manager to create marketing and PR materials around planned events.
z. Create social media strategy around each planned event.
aa. Work with community groups online and businesses to build awareness for planned events and attract local vendors.

E. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, Business or Communications preferred; and a composite of work experience covering each of the essential duties is required.
2. Certification in Google Analytics preferred.
3. Must have knowledge and proven skills in working in a computer network environment. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
4. Experience with email marketing tools such as MailChimp, and website editing tools such as WordPress preferred.
5. Experience with HTML/CSS preferred.
6. Must be familiar with social media and website analytics and reporting.

7. Must be proficient with and knowledgeable of fonts, graphics, and visual layout.
8. Must be able to understand, follow and give oral and written instructions.
9. Must be able to create and give presentations or speeches.
10. Must be able to perform simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and be able to apply concepts such as ratios and percentages to practical situations.
11. Must possess strong administrative and excellent interpersonal skills.
12. Must be organized, flexible, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure and within tight time constraints.
13. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
14. Must possess a valid California Driver's License, pass all Salvation Army required driver safety tests at least annually, and be insurable at the normal ranges of risk assigned to passenger vehicle drivers in the state of California.

F. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis

• Some travel required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid California driver’s license.

1. Must be at least 21 years of age
2. Complete the Salvation Army’s Decision Driving course training
