Digital Imaging Scientist - Specialty Pathology Services

We are currently recruiting for a Digital Imaging Scientist at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. You will work within our modern purpose-built Histology department, where you will play a key role within the Specialty Pathology Services group (SPS)

Following a comprehensive training and career development scheme, the responsibilities of this varied role will include:

Histopathology slide scanning

Metadata entry

QC of slide scans and metadata

Physical shipments of samples

Digital transfer of slide scans to client pathologists

Communicating study updates internally and external

Adherence to Good Laboratory Practice regulations

Undertaking cross-training initiatives within both SPS and other areas across Safety Assessment

The job may involve periods of lifting, pushing and pulling of equipment and samples

About You:

You will have an enthusiastic and committed attitude.

You will have a target-orientated outlook, suited to working within a fast-paced, production-intensive environment

Once trained, the job involves working overtime, which may be weekdays, weekends, Bank Holidays and may be part of the on-call rota

Education:

Educated to BSc degree level in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent is desirable but not essential

Experience:

Applicants should have good IT skills including Microsoft Excel

Previous histology and sample management experience is desirable but not essential
