Digital Construction Manager

What we are recruiting for:

We are currently recruiting for a Digital Construction Manager (BIM Management specialist) to join our Regional Construction business based out of London or Birmingham to work on a £320m programme of Public Sector works across 4 projects in Kent, Gloucester, West Sussex and Yorkshire.

You will be the focal point for project specific BIM and Digital Construction deliverables through the life of a project from tender to completion.  The role will involve working with our teams, design consultants, subcontractors and clients in order to plan and execute the digital deliverables of both Bovis and the project.

As a member of the Digital Engineering community, this role is an integral part of our digital innovation strategy, transforming our processes, people and the projects we deliver.

Roles & responsibilities:

Consultant appointments – Working closely with our Construction team and help them to appoint consultants with appropriate BIM obligations as part of their appointment contracts including BIM capability assessments of the project teamSubcontractor appointment – Working closely with our construction team and help them appoint subcontractors with appropriate BIM scopes as part of their appointment contracts including BIM capability assessment of the project team Implementing BIM – Enforce project BIM strategy, 3D/BIM coordination workflows and BEP across the project team and police it on a regular basis to ensure that the project’s BIM is developed progressively in the required formatAudit – At key milestone submission dates review and audit of the project BIM and prepare audit reports for project team leadersMeetings – Chair internal and external BIM meetings as BIM Lead for the projectReporting – Regular reporting of the project BIM activities to internal and external stakeholdersVisualisation - Managing/delivering appropriate visuals to team members when needed to support their task or scope of workTraining – Assess BIM training requirements and deliver required BIM training either using internal or external training providersDesign - Working closely with the respective design teams to ensure that Bovis needs have been understood and incorporated. Interrogate the design information being developed for incorporation into the PIM to ensure that is robust, in the appropriate format and of sufficient quality for acceptance.Safety - Support the H&S effort through the model functionality to support safety initiatives on the project.Logistics – Working closely with our internal construction team and help planning and construction teams to optimise  site logistics through the use of model informationClash Management - Interrogation of appointed teams information models to identify any potential design clashes between task teams ensuring that it is logged within the issues register for tracking and resolutionQuantity Take-off – Working closely with internal cost planning and estimating teams and help link model quantities to cost plans and estimatesCommercial - Creating and capturing evidence of BIM values which influence the commercial outcomes on the project. Extract data from the model to contribute directly to support monthly reporting.Procurement - Interface with and support the procurement team to package work scopes for inquiry including trade specific BIM scope of works for appointments as well as BIM capability assessment forms etc4D - Interface with the internal planning team to help create construction sequencing the virtual build of the project through various phases incorporating site wide logistics etcAsset Management – Collaborate with the client’s appointed asset management team and produce and Asset Information Model at handover ensuring all required asset data has successfully been Sustainability - Assist with delivering data requirements embedded within task team’s information models to achieve the client’s  sustainability targets.Information Management - Closely collaborate with the project’s Information Manager to ensure that project information is controlled and distributed to the project team members through the CDE

Experience & background:

First-hand knowledge/experience of Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, Synchro, and Solibri.Hands on experience with BIM/3D based project deliveryExcellent knowledge of ISO 19650, and other relevant UK BIM standardsCSCS card holderExpert knowledge of construction industryStrategic thinking and visionaryDevelop and maintain relationships with trust and confidenceUnderstanding of programme duration and sequencing of works of relevant aspects of constructionExperienced with and capable of being part of a bid team and undertaking pre-construction planningDemonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and lead the construction delivery team and construction workforceDemonstrate an ability to be flexible in recognising where working methods require adapting and changing to suit a change in project needs or new challengesDemonstrate an ability to ensure delivery of work packages and in places betterment of commercial targets
