Digital Asset Management (DAM) Operations Lead

 ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Content at Scale team is seeking a Digital Asset Management (DAM) Operations Lead to drive and manage the execution, governance, and operationalization of Pfizer’s enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM) strategy and system. This role will ensure the DAM ecosystem delivers measurable business value by overseeing process mapping, implementation, ongoing operations, and optimization across markets.

Serving as the central connection point across marketing, medical, regulatory, IT, and external partners, the DAM Operations Lead will translate a pre-defined strategic vision into executional reality - ensuring compliant, efficient, and scalable content operations that are ready for an AI-enabled future.

The DAM Operations Lead will oversee a team of DAM Librarians and Business Leads, manage process and workflow governance, and track performance outcomes against business KPIs. This role requires a blend of DAM product leadership, operational excellence, stakeholder alignment, and data-driven accountability.  Deep knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and experience in heavily regulated industries is required.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESDAM Strategy

Execute and evolve the pre-defined DAM strategy, ensuring successful implementation across brands and markets.

Lead end-to-end process mapping for content ingestion, approval, reuse, and archival to align business and technical workflows.

Translate strategy into a detailed operating model and execution plan, with milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.

Execute defined governance frameworks, metadata models, taxonomy, and asset lifecycle management to ensure compliance, discoverability, and reusability while evolving as appropriate to meet business needs.

Analyze key metrics and usage reports to evaluate DAM impact, identify improvement opportunities, and drive enhancements by aligning resources and defining new business requirements for product teams

Partner with Adobe product owners, marketing, compliance, and Digital teams to ensure integration across the content supply chain

Maintain and refine the DAM roadmap, ensuring alignment with the broader content and AI strategy.

Prioritize enhancements, manage the roadmap, and ensure solutions meet evolving user needs.

Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary connection point across the DAM enterprise, linking content creators, reviewers, marketers, agencies and compliance teams.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, resolve challenges, and drive adoption of DAM best practices.Partner with external agencies, BPO teams, and technology vendors to maximize efficiency and service excellence.
 Operations & GovernanceDirect and mentor the team defined to support the DAM strategy and ongoing operations including roles such as DAM Librarians and process analysts, ensuring effective asset ingestion, metadata tagging, asset quality, and version control.Oversee the day-to-day DAM operations service areas, including content ingestion, metadata enrichment, rights management, archiving, health checks.Define and enforce standards for asset approval of workflows, regulatory compliance, and audit-readiness.Monitor system performance, SLA adherence, and user satisfaction, driving continuous improvement.Ensure process governance and documentation are maintained for all operational workflows, including ownership of RACI and SOPs.Build a library of user focused materials covering DAM processes, training, and job aids published to assist users navigate their role in the DAM related to the content process. Change Management & EnablementLead the rollout of new DAM processes, ensuring teams are trained, supported, and enabled to operate within the defined framework.Refine the roles needed to sustain and evolve the DAM strategy, roadmap, processes and operations, recruit, hire and manage those rolesChampion adoption of new workflows and automation capabilities across teams.Deliver reporting and dashboard requirements that visualize performance, reuse, and operational efficiency.Partner with learning and changing teams to embed DAM best practices and governance principles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in DAM, Content Management, or Product Ownership. Experience in life sciences/pharma or other heavily regulated industries is strongly preferred.Ability to work independently to assess priorities, communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders, and influence decisions that enhance DAM performance and user experience.Strong understanding of pharma regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., Medical, Legal and Regulatory reviews, FDA/EMA guidelines).Proven expertise in leading DAM platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager Assets, Aprimo, Veeva Vault, or equivalent), and better understanding of Adobe tools (e.g., Fusion, Workfront)Demonstrated success in managing business / product teams or offshore service teams, with a focus on operational excellence and SLA delivery.Deep knowledge of metadata, taxonomy, rights management, and content lifecycle management.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align business needs with system capabilities.Experienced leader with a track record of managing cross-functional and global teams.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
