JOB SUMMARY
The Culinary Specialist is responsible for:
• Assist in all culinary functions as directed by the Culinary Service Manager/Asst. CSM in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Upholding Aramark Senior LIFE+ mission statement and attending to our resident’s nutritional needs with integrity and attention to detail.
• Ensure all culinary policies and procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
• Work with the facility RD/CSM to carry out necessary recommended therapeutic diet restrictions with regards to residents’ nutritional care plans.
• Assist CSM, Chef to prepare, serve meals as instructed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with established policies.
• Assist in meal set up, meal clean-up, daily cleaning duties, removal of garbage, etc. and other duties deemed necessary and appropriate, or as directed by CDM/RD/Chef.
• Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precaution policy & procedures while preforming tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements of the Culinary Specialist are:
• Attends continued in-servicing as required.
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, and facility staff.
• Prioritization and time management skills.
• Ability to assist management in all aspects of the culinary department in accordance with company policies & procedures and all mandated regulations.
• Knowledge of English language.
• Customer service skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements of the Culinary Specialist are:
• Standing up to 95% of the time.
• Lifting and carrying 25% of time (up to 50 lbs.).
• Pushing and pulling 25% of the time (up to 50 lbs.).
• Bending, twisting, reaching, etc. 25% of the time.
EXPOSURE
Possible exposure to a Culinary Specialist is:
• Exposure to chemicals both hazardous and caustic, effecting eyes, hands, face lungs, etc.
• Exposure to confidential materials.
• Sound levels may be high due to machinery.
