Dietary Aide

Huntersville Health & Rehabilitation Center in Huntersville, North Carolina is seeking an experienced, motivated professional to join our team as a Dietetic Technician. Food brings people together, and dining is a very important part of the outstanding experience we create for our patients.

The Dietetic Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance in identifying and meeting the nutritional needs of the patient. Works with the Dining Services Manager and the Registered Dietitian in providing quality food service and nutritional care.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates in gathering nutritional data from patients and identifying nutritional needs and problems.Documents patient nutritional information in the medical record according to established standards, including related documentation for the RAI/MDS and care planning processes.Prepares and manages implementation of nutritional care plans according to dietary orders from physicians, and in collaboration with a registered dietitian.Conducts nutrition education an in-service education to meet the needs of patients, family members, and staff in collaboration with the Dining Services Manager and Registered Dietitian.Interacts and participates with other disciplines by actively participating in the care plan process, weight variance committee, and wound care teams.Completes initial, quarterly, and annual assessments. Completes assessments for significant change of status as necessary.

Qualifications:

Associate or two-year college degreeCertification or eligibility for registration as a Dietetic Technician with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, or Certified Dietary Manager certification with the Dietary Manager Association.Knowledgeable of hazards of institutional kitchen facilities.Able to ensure safe contact with infectious diseases, electrical equipment, and hazardous floor surfaces.Excellent communication skills required

Preferred: a baccalaureate degree with major study in food and nutrition related program.
