**Job Title: Diesel Technician**
Job Description
This position is for a Diesel Technician at a service facility. The role involves performing preventive maintenance on tractor- trailers and trucks which includes tasks like checking tires, adding oil, conducting inspections, and adding brake fluid. Additionally, the role involves reactive maintenance such as changing brakes and shocks, and addressing DOT failures. Diagnostic work on trucks is also a key component of this position.
Responsibilities
+ Perform preventive maintenance on various vehicles including forklifts, tractor trailers, and trucks.
+ Conduct detailed inspections and add necessary fluids such as oil and brake fluid.
+ Perform diagnostic work to troubleshoot and repair vehicle issues.
+ Change out brakes and shocks as needed and address DOT failures.
+ Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all vehicles meet safety standards.
Essential Skills
+ 6 years of experience as a diesel technician.
+ Proficiency in diagnostic and aftermarket experience.
+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks.
+ Strong understanding of diesel mechanics and blueprint reading.
+ Possession of own tools and mechanical repair skills.
Work Environment
The work is conducted in a maintenance shop within a distribution center. This is a first shift position, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
