Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician responsible for comprehensive bumper to bumper repairs on diesel vehicles, primarily trucks. The role includes supporting development engineers with diesel engine and truck work, mechanical and electrical part swaps, teardown and rebuild, diagnostics, and repairs. The position also involves off-site development trip support.

ResponsibilitiesConduct bumper to bumper repairs and diagnose electrical issues on diesel vehicles.Perform engine work, including cab-offs and engine swaps.Install instrumentation and wire harnesses.Follow engineering teams during off-site test rides and provide necessary repairs.Travel within the US for support, approximately three times a year or more based on rotation.Work on repairs for trailers and manage work tickets efficiently.Essential SkillsAbility to troubleshoot and diagnose diesel issues such as codes and running problems.Strong mechanical skills with at least 8 years of experience.Familiarity with diesel engines, diagnostics, and fabrication.Additional Skills & QualificationsTwo-year Technical Degree from institutions like UNOH or Baker College.Experience in welding, MIG, TIG, and fabrication is a significant bonus.Dealership experience with diesel vehicles is advantageous.Possession of a chauffeur’s license is preferred due to heavier trucks.Recent graduates with a strong diesel experience are welcomed to apply.Work Environment

This position operates onsite at our diesel engine development facilities. Technicians can choose between a 5-day workweek with 8-hour shifts from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, or a 4-day workweek with 10-hour shifts from 5 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The role involves hands-on work with new technology and offers the opportunity for diverse daily tasks, including welding, engine removal, tire rotation, and oil changes. All travel expenses for off-site support are covered, requiring no out-of-pocket expenses.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
