Diesel Technician
**Job Description** We are looking for a skilled Diesel Technician to maintain and repair trucks, focusing on engines, transmissions, and other critical systems. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in truck maintenance and repair. **Responsibilities** + Diagnose and repair truck engines, transmissions, and other components. + Conduct safety inspections and routine maintenance. + Maintain both handwritten and computer-generated work records. + Provide accurate repair estimates and timelines. + Communicate effectively with customers and team members. + Perform DOT inspections. **Essential Skills** + State of Michigan Medium/Heavy Duty Mechanic Certifications or 1-2 years of truck repair experience. + Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + SOM Medium/Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification - Brake. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Diesel repair experience (military, repair shop, etc.). + Mechanical aptitude (replacing brakes, using hand tools). + At least 1 year of preventative maintenance experience. + Shift flexibility from 4 AM - 6 PM (8-hour days). + Motor rebuild experience. + ASE certification. + State mechanic license. + 3+ years of semi-truck repair experience. + Heavy equipment repair experience. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers a climate-controlled work environment with open bays for summer and heating for winter, ensuring comfort year-round. The facility adheres to all safety regulations and provides necessary safety training. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based in Battle Creek, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
