About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Omaha, NE. This is a field service position focused on maintaining and repairing firetrucks and emergency response vehicles. You’ll work independently at customer sites, ensuring these critical vehicles remain in peak operating condition.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems on firetrucks and emergency vehicles.Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on chassis, pumps, and electrical systems.Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.Complete field service calls, traveling to customer locations as needed.Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures.Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2 years as a diesel mechanic (firetruck or heavy-duty vehicle experience preferred).Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.Ability to work independently in a field environment.Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.What We Offer
