**Diesel Mechanic** **Schedule:** Second shift, starting at 2:00 p.m., working 10-11 hours a day, 50-60 hours a week. Monday – Friday, occasional Saturday’s. **Pay:** $22 to $32 per hour, based on experience. **Position Overview** We are seeking a highly experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team in **Monroe, LA** . This role is responsible for advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy diesel equipment within our fleet. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to high quality workmanship and safety. **Key Responsibilities** + Perform advanced engine and exhaust diagnostics including DPF systems for MACK and Cummins + Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and electrical and wiring issues + Diagnose and service air brake systems including Bendix and Meritor + Perform suspension and steering diagnostics and repairs on multiple system types + Diagnose and repair both automatic and manual transmissions + Complete welding and fabrication tasks as needed + Maintain organization of tools, workspace, and shop housekeeping + Utilize McNeilus equipment knowledge when applicable + Complete required documentation, maintain accurate service records, and follow company procedures + Operate company vehicles and equipment when needed (CDL required) **Requirements** + 2 or more years of relevant experience in diesel or heavy truck fleet maintenance.
