Job Title: GSE Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced GSE Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) such as baggage carts and deicing equipment. The ideal candidate should have a strong experience in mechanical testing, troubleshooting, and diesel systems.

Responsibilities

Perform light and heavy repairs on GSE equipment.Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues including diesel, gas, and LP engines.Troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical systems and read electrical schematics.Repair hydraulic systems and read hydraulic flow schematics.Utilize computer software to diagnose Powertrain Management Systems.Repair 80 & 48 volt DC systems and troubleshoot Airstart systems.Maintain productivity levels and accurately complete vehicle repair orders timely.Continue to receive ongoing training to enhance equipment knowledge.

Essential Skills

5+ years of experience in mechanical testing and troubleshooting.Experience with diesel systems, including automotive and diesel engines.Ability to read schematics and perform electrical testing.Possession of a rolling toolbox with basic tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous GSE experience preferred.Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines with 3-5 years of experience preferred.Valid driver's license.Good oral and written communication skills.Vocational training certificate or equivalent in work experience.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Ability to attain an Airport-issued ID badge

Work Environment

Work in a covered, heated hangar environment during winter, with large fans for cooling during the summer. The location hosts 20 mechanics, with 7 on each shift. There is also an off-site location for larger projects such as full vehicle overhauls. Join one of the largest aviation companies in the USA, with operations at over 15 major airports

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.50 - $33.50/hr.
