Diesel Diagnostic Technician
Job Description We’re hiring an experienced diagnostics‑heavy diesel technician to support fleet customers (larger trucks; primarily diesel) through mobile service. You’ll be supplied a company service truck outfitted with specialty tools and will perform on‑site diagnostics, light repairs, and basic services. The role is focused on independently troubleshooting drivability and diesel systems on Class 3–6 fleet vehicles (e.g., gas box trucks, Ford F‑450 chassis on diesel, HVAC service vans) and coordinating with shop/field techs when deeper repairs are needed. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced on‑site diagnostics on diesel engines, fuel systems, emission controls (DPF/DEF/EGR), and related electrical systems for larger fleet trucks. Execute light repairs and basic services (filters, fluids, belts/hoses, batteries, brakes), and document findings with clear repair recommendations. Use OEM/aftermarket scan tools and multimeters to rapidly identify root causes; create concise estimates for labor/parts. Coordinate with shop or partner technicians when major repairs are required; occasionally work with another tech on complex jobs, but mostly operate solo in the field. Communicate professionally with customers across rental, vending, and HVAC service fleets; maintain strong relationships through timely, high‑quality work.
