**Chassis/Diesel Mechanic**
**Job Description**
The chassis mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on both company and client vehicles and equipment, which include gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety of the team and the continued success of the company.
**Responsibilities**
+ Ensure all client and company vehicles and equipment meet company standards.
+ Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services, inspections, and repairs according to the Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Department’s schedule.
+ Rebuild or replace engines, transmissions, or rear ends as needed or scheduled, following ASE best practices.
+ Act as the liaison between the company and its M&R vendors for all assigned, outside vehicle and equipment repair or PM services.
+ Assign outside repairs or PM services to the appropriate vendor when necessary.
+ Ensure all repairs are completed correctly, in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Maintain all service-related documents to ensure the accuracy of quarterly and annual M&R reports.
+ Keep the M&R Shop neat, organized, and safe at all times.
+ Complete special projects as required.
+ Remain cross-trained in various areas of Secure Parking operation.
**Essential Skills**
+ Graduate of a Tech School for Diesel Mechanics or equivalent experience working with class A trucks.
+ 3+ years of experience in a class A diesel repair shop.
+ ASE Certification in Diesel Mechanics.
+ Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
+ Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to perform intermediate-level computer tasks with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Hydraulic experience is a plus.
+ Possession of personal mechanic tools is a plus but not necessary.
+ Trucking-related experience preferred.
+ Willingness to work additional hours, including off-hours call-ins and some holidays.

**Work Environment**
The work environment exposes employees to hot and cold weather, noise, working in high places, and exposure to dust and dirt. The role requires standing for long periods, climbing ladders, working in high places, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. This is a 24/7/365 operation, providing a dynamic and engaging work setting.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
