DG BOSS: Material Control Specialist (FN)

Administers production control, inventory control, shipping, and receiving of materials. Checks parts and materials for damage and verifies quantity, part number, and the serial number of shipped items. Records and prepares status reports of requested and received items. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for tracking activity related to assigned categories of ordered supplies and materials.The scope of this responsibility includes recording material requirements, acquisition, and issues in the maintenance or the project material control systems.Also assists in the coordination of material availability and surplus minimization with crafts and project controls.Responsible for creating and maintaining requisition reports.Maintain records and provide traceability of documentation through required inventory management accounting or other designated tracking systems from receipt and acceptance through issue and shipment process.Serve as a power user in COSTPOINT.Responsible for the data entry of material and service requisition in COSTPOINT.Responsible for the Good Receipt.Worked closely with the end-user in resolving any issue at their annexes pertaining to material requisitions.Maintain of variety of warehouse-related files and records.Interfaced with the customer and coordinate with accounting and finance staff on cost code.Assist in the closeout of procurement files and all documents, memorandum, and signature are present and verify the completion of all services has been performed.Verified receipt and packing slip against a purchase order to ensure accuracy, performed follow-up procedures on order and reported damage, shortages, and discrepancies.Communicated with the buyers regarding purchase orders and the receiving of supplies and equipment to successfully resolve any errors or discrepancies.Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

Basic Qualifications

Functional operational knowledge using Excel, Access some knowledge in SAP and Cost Point.Comfort multitasking and handling multiple requests from different individuals and departments.Must possess administrative, organizational, and computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.Work with minimum supervision and excellent communication skills with co-worker, techs, and customers.Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities.Strong communication skills and extremely self-motivated when managing communication channels.Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

EDUCATION:

Must have at least a High School diploma is required; An associate or bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration major in Supply Chain Management or any equivalent course based on a 2-year or 4-year course of study from an accredited College or University is highly desired.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in procurement and supply chain, logistics operations

working in U.S. Military Installation, and/or any equivalent civilian experience.
